A quaint trail in scenic Sonoma. The lake loop trail is an easy walk with a great view of the water. No fishing here. No swimming either, but didn’t seem to stop the local kids. Will definitely check out more trails in this area.

Dog friendly but beware of foxtails- very bad in June. Lake is disappointing but the trail is easy and nice.

Making a beautiful recovery after the fires. Always loved this park, great for a hike with the mutt. The old oaks and small lake make nice scenery for a spring stroll.

Great light trail with plenty of benches, water, and even a porta potty along the way. Great for leashed dogs, or leave them at home and explore the museums. This trail would definitely be considered stroller friendly as well, as the majority is paved.

Enjoyed our walk with our dog on the leash. Plenty of others out enjoying the trails. Main trail asphalt, lots of trails to meander thru no matter your level. Free parking off Arnold.

Easy trails. Lots of traffic. The lake is high at the moment which is nice 3/13/17. Dog friendly.

Short and easy

Good variation with lots of different trails. Easy to change trails without even realizing it, got a little bit lost. The lake/reserve is beautiful though as well as the lookout over the fields.

I'm actually upset I never took the time to hike here before. What a gorgeous spot! I would advise to have your own map when choosing your adventure as there wasn't much signage. There was a nice diversity of easy to moderately difficult patches.

This section of Highway 12 is the best part of the Valley of the Moon. Kenwood is where the City of Santa Rosa begins to fall behind you and the vineyards, wineries and stately walnut and oak trees line the roads. Traveling south through Kenwood, views open up to the Maacama mountains, home of Sugarloaf State Park and Mt Hood Regional Parks. The closer to Glen Ellen you get, the closer the hills and trees become. Glen Ellen has attractions too: Jack London State Historic Park, Boyes Hot Springs, and a number of eateries and wineries. The Sonoma Mission Inn and Spa is located just south of Glen Ellen. Small, winding county roads can take you up into Bennett Valley and back into Santa Rosa. Some of the smaller roads have little or no shoulder, although the alternative is the relatively high-traffic (though scenic) Highway 12.
