Cant wait for cooler weather to do this one again. Got a lil freaked out by the rattlesnake sighting. but the views are wonderful!

This was a very easy hike, and had great views of the lake the entire way. I only ran into one other person the whole trail, and he was just fishing off the side of some rocks. Get here early during the summer, as there isn’t much shade and it gets very hot!
The trail is also very well kept. Most of the trail you can walk two people side by side.

Great, exerting hike....

Excellent experience and beautiful scenery.

Entrance fee into Millerton Lake was $12 for Memorial Day. Nice view of the lake. It was very steep the whole time up. A lot of bushes and brush getting stuck in our socks and clothes. We did not complete the trail but still got a decent lookout view. There is no shade, we went at 9 am and it was very hot already.
We also took an 8 and 6 year old. They fell a few times on the steep parts. I do not recommend for kids.

It was a great hike. A couple of steep parts, which was my favorite. It’s great for trail running. I was eaten a bit by the bugs, but the views are gorgeous and worth it!

Warning: NOT for mountain biking. Hiking, yes. Mountain biking, no!

Couldn’t enter the park since the gate to pay was broken. Was told we could pay at the Friant Park and then call the marina after they opened 2 hours later to let them know we had paid but they may not honor it. Why would we pay and sit and wait with the chance that we wouldn’t be able to get in. Very disappointed since we were really looking forward to this hike.

It’s got damn hard but I love it. The view is amazing and the trail conditions are good to great. I’m not too sure about the fences but they keep the cows contained. You have to go to the peak! That’s all
I’m gonna say. Enjoy

Pretty great trail. App is wrong in distance more like 20 miles if you do the trail the app has.

Wonderful and easy enough for our kids

Great running trail along the lake

Steep climb at first but one you reach the top it is well worth it.

This is a good, short hike that offer some challenge because it is mostly uphill. It was somewhat overgrown in areas, so I would wear pants or long socks if that sort of thing bothers you. The view is pretty great! I enjoyed it. Very green and pretty right now in April. For your next challenge try pin cushion Peak.

It starts off next to the road, which isn’t the most appealing. But don’t fret, after you get going for a little while it is a beautiful hike next to the lake, no cars just nature. There is minimal change in elevation which makes his great for all ages and all hiking ability levels. The trail is super easy to follow. Definitely recommend! Right now in April it is very green and there are tons of beautiful wildflowers.

First time visiting, my husband thought he’d surprise me and take me on a nice walk surrounded by what i love...nature, first I was a bit disappointed only because it looked so flat but as we began to walk I end up loving it, such a relaxing, beautiful walk. We took our 2 boys, 3 and 6 years old we all enjoyed this trail.

Single track, easy running trail. Over looks the lake.

Easter Sunday, enjoying the beautiful weather and the view from the top of the trail.

BEAUTIFUL with wildflowers in bloom along the whole trail today. Easy enough to do with a 2 1/2 year old walking and a 1yr old in a baby carrier. We went about 1.5 miles in, played by the lake, and then back for a picnic. LOVED it

Overall nice trail. Pretty well maintained, and enjoyable. Oak trees are starting to spring with life, next month should be even nicer!

Went a few weeks ago and the weather was perfect. Made me realize how out if shape I am tho.

This is a long one! Got up at 7 got there 7:30 and didn’t get home till 5 or so. I took it to temperance. Really pretty great for spring or fall. Pack lots of water and snacks you’ll need it. Bikers do this trail a lot do be mindful of them. Over all great all day hike

Millerton Lake State Recreation describes this as a multi-use trail, i.e. hike, bike, horse. It does not list dogs. Check out no dogs signs in South Finegold where this trail begins.

Good hike, great view of Milliton Lake all corners..if you can go all the way to Big Ben!

Enjoying hike

Loved the hike, it was intense but worth it.

My first hike this year. Easy to get to. Easy to follow. I’m out of shape but I was still able to complete it. Beautiful views at the top. Always worth it. :)

Had a great time on this trail. I imagine it would be very hot in the summer, but today it was just beautiful, with my niece and 2 dogs. It was easy for me , for being my first hike after double knee replacement. I would do it again.

Great little hike and views. Lots of traffic. Good to see people out and using it.

I hiked Buzzard's Roost last fall. It was an easy and beautiful hike. I am in my sixties, and friends with me were in their seventies. It was not a difficult hike for any of us. The terrain was fun and colorful. I admit we kept saying, "Are we getting closer?" many many times. I think we were just anxious to get to the top. The walk back seemed much shorter. I loved the view of the valley below. This is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon. I had so much fun. We actually ran into our son, daughter-in-law, and grandson on the trail. This was a total surprise, because we had not discussed going on the hike. I plan to hie again in the Spring. I want to experience it in different seasons.
