we entered this trail from the West point instead of the east side. it ended up being a very easy hike of only about 2 miles to the waterfall instead of the 6 if you started on the other side. closed untill reevaluated after Carr fire

Explored this trail on an overcast day with a friend and we were not disappointed! I would call this a moderate trail but the worst of it was at the beginning (we went counterclockwise) where it was narrow and rutted out. There were so many little mines and areas to pop down by the creek that we spent hours exploring this trail. What a gem! It might be miserable in the middle of a hot summer day (burned trees = no shade in some areas), but if you hit it early or late enough and in spring or fall, this is a great adventure. I can't wait to take my kids out on it!

Been on this trail a few times and just went out recently after the fire and it’s still a pretty trail but a lot of the trail is washed out making this a short but rough trail.

Pretty trail but closed due to the fires in the area may not be open for months maybe not until next season.

As of today, 5/11/19... access road to the trail was CLOSED!

Still a beautiful hike after the Carr Fire. Little pops of green growing up through the ashes leading up to the mine, then we were surrounded with wild flowers the rest of the way. Multiple springs for the pup to drink out of, but we still gave her water because it was so warm. Saw a couple of trail runners and 2 others who came to see the flowers. Very peaceful, and a good way to get the heart rate up after not exercising all winter :)

Road closed. Unable to get there

Very Nice hike. Beautiful even after the Carr Fire. A lot of new growth in the burnt trees.

Eerie and beautiful.

Great loop. Unexpected “creek crossings” and downed trees due to recent snow. Tad bit of obstacle course at times. Prepare for possible wet feet and adventure hiking. Beautiful Mountain and lake views, as well as creeks and pools. Even small “Waterfall”.

Hike gets better and better the further up you go. capped by a great waterfall.

nice hike with WATERFALLS at the end.

Well maintained trail, with a lot of shade. If it weren’t for some step spots this trail would be rated as easy. The falls are definitely worth the hike, and there are swimming holes everywhere along brandy creek trail, but the water is about 40 degrees!

We enjoyed this trail and think most people would. I’m not saying Brandy Creek Trail is hard but it can be challenging.

Ran this route with my dogs off leash. It was a but hot and boring the first mile, then the creeks started showing up, and my dogs and I loved it. (Shade too) We started at noon it was 90*. Note- we almost took the other way at Carr Powerhouse which is only a mile, but the only water is once you hit the falls. I am glad I got to see all the beautiful green folage.

Biking Review: HORRIBLY marked and poorly maintained trails. Easy to very moderate with gentle grades. Have a lot of patience to figure out where you are riding. I agree about the tick warning. If you are concerned about legal presence you must buy a ticket--which is NOT available at the park. I got lucky and was the only vehicle there and did not get a violation ticket. Check online for info. This link may help. https://www.nps.gov/whis/planyourvisit/upload/Mill%20Creek%20Keeper%20FINAL.pdf

Nice hike. I really wanted to come back at night to see the bats come out of the mine! :)

Spectacular views!! I loved the feeling up top. The hike up kicked my butt. :) 3 hours up & 2 down. Soooo worth it!

I would give this hike a 5 out of 5 if it wasn’t for the all of the poison oak and downed trees on the trail during my hike with my dogs (June 2018). If hiking with dogs be on the look out for poison oak on and around the trail! I would also suggest not straying from the trail where it becomes more prevalent! I was worried about snakes but the only snake we saw was on the drive out. The S. Shore Drive trailhead is the longer hike. Much of the hike is uphill and the creeks were only difficult to cross if you didn’t want to get wet. The falls are gorgeous but easy to miss if you’re not looking for signs. They are located on the left side of the trail before the big bridge and go up past the small railed trail to get to the falls! So worth it! The hike is about 3.5 to 4 miles up and then 3.5 to 4 miles back to the car! Ended up being about 8 miles total which is rough if you’re not expecting it! Also, 4 day’s post hike and no poison oak reaction! Happy hiking!!

Beautiful trail in the shade and is well maintained

Beautiful trail, got my heart rate going.

Such a pretty and fun hike we started at the wrong start point so it added 4 miles to our hike but I didn’t mind at all the views all around were pretty and fresh air..they don’t tell you that you will need a parking pass when coming here but since I hike all the time I got the 40 dollar one for the entire year it’s a lot of ups and down but soooo fun
