60% was great and 40% was horribly steep and washed out - had to walk.

Couple benches and trash cans on trail. Pretty view of the cities. Paved trail but can go off onto dirt trails. Highly recommend.

A few people in a circle, the boring wolf park

Very good trail hike. Respect the marked trail. Exactly what it says. Not easy but mostly a gradual incline. Very few shady spots so go early or later and take water and snacks. Mostly a gravel surface so be aware on the way down. Good workout!

Did dis hike during the summer (June to be exact) extremely hard, I’m not a very athletic person. Reaching the top felt sooooo good and rewarding. This hike is definitely a challenge.

Hard and not much to see at the top

Hard but worth it. Try to make it to the peak by sunrise.

Great trail. Very hard

Little shade on the back side. Not scenic until the top. Pretty steep grade for most but has easier spots than the front trails.

Great run cool perfect

very hard, not alor of people make it to the top and take a picture (proof) next to the tepee. a bathroom at the beginning of the trail and no other till 3/4 of the way up. this is where Spartan go to train. lots of families go to take pictures of the open view. cows on the trail lots of poop along the way. bring a backpack with energy snacks and plenty of water

Got up in 1 hour 20 minutes, no big breaks just 3-4 1 minute water breaks. 1st 30 min, constant gradual climb, no flats. After 30 min, a flat relief into a forest so nice and shady. Maybe 15 min relief and it starts gradually climbing again. The last 20 minute stretch is the steepest, gotta billygoat over rocks at a steep incline. Most form natural steps from all the traffic. Feeling of accomplishment is greater than the views. I prefer the east view where you can see mt diablo. View of the cities and the hoard of people taking turns on the pole, meh you can have it.

kinda boring and really challenging

Brought my teeny dog and he was able to hike the whole way! Some scramble near the top, not so bad if the sun is still out. Took us about 2.5 hours up and down. Great view from the top, fun to see the cows on the path!

There isn’t really any view throughout the trail. The only thing is when you reach the top you get a good view from the mission peak pole. The trail starts with a steep climbing and retains the steepness for quite a long time. Mostly its the uphill climbing that will make you tire. Overall for an average person without any workout, it takes around 2 hours to reach the top and an hour to decent the trail. Take at least 1.5 liters of liquid (Water or Gatorade) per person with you. Also, during fall season you should start the trail by 8:30 am max, after that it really gets too sunny and hot. Not worth repeating the trail, one time is good enough.

This trail is stinky because it’s next to a marsh. Plus, there is no shade. I did not enjoy the walk because it was hot and the smell gets really pungent the longer you go. I will not go back there.
