Saw rattlesnake on the way in HUGE!!!

Beautiful trail. Lots of shade until the accent to the Red Rocks. Very easy and enjoyable hike. There is not much parking at the trailhead.

Such a fun trail. Good distance not too long and not too short. Lots of shade too which is a bonus.

Great, easy trail, awesome to see the red rocks and read the new signs about the history.

No snakes and only a few bikers today.

It’s pretty awesome once you get to the red rocks!

The first trail is kind of dull but the red-rock is utterly fantastical spectacular

This was a very fun hike for my GF and I. This hike seemed to change as you progressed and made you feel like you were in a different world as it did. The scenery was beautiful and the hike was fairly easy. We came on a hot day and there were a couple rattlesnake sightings from other hikers on our way to red rock. As we almost reached the red rock we did come to a point where there was a small puddle you had to cross to continue further and that puddle had a swarm of bees that seemed to be drinking the water and just buzzing around the area. Only way to continue was to literally walk through them so my GF and I decided to take the risk and made it through successfully (which was a huge feat as she is terrified of bees). On our way back out we had to cross that puddle again and that was not fun. I did get stung once but shockingly it wasn’t from crossing that puddle. All that being said the hike didn’t disappoint and I was glad we made the trip.

Great place to hike during the weekdays. Knocked out the Billy Goat trail and The Red Rock Canyon trail, highly recommend! Start early to avoid the heat because there is little cloud cover.

good trail. elevation change makes it difficult in places. Beautiful down in sleepy hollow. if you stand still you can hear nothing but the birds and the bees. tons of wildflowers.

Great! Varied terrain; great conditions and fun trail run. Good end of end day/post work run that will guarantee you sweat.

I enjoyed this trail. The Billy Goat section is a winding trail that takes you through wildflowers and over more rugged terrain that makes you feel “off the beaten path”. The rest is a wider trail that gets a little close to the road at times. Sure, there is no shade but if you find a nice day, you’ll enjoy yourself out here.

Hard, narrow, full sun, but up to the top very fast!

HARD, saw a snake, yikes! But a short hard hike.

Easy, near home, but crowded on weekends.

Very nice trail. Perfect condition. Some areas of Rocky and Sandy trail, but overall easy Hike.

This is the time to go, the little yellow wildflowers grow so tall you are walking in a corn maze of flowers! That being said, get there early. By 11am there were rattlesnakes out on the trail, sunning themselves. We were almost done at that point but we saw two rattlers along the home stretch not five minutes apart. Full grown, and one had completely stretched across the trail, the other was on the side and multiple people had walked by it unnoticed...

3 rattlesnake sightings on the trail today.

Loved it. It was my first time mountain biking! 5/2/19

yellow flowers everywhere. lots of bikers too

Definitely snake season! We began our hike before 9 AM, and saw five snakes on our hike – three king snakes, two rattlesnakes. Lots of overgrowth on the trail, so keep your eyes open!
