Uphill, uphill and uphill some more. But it’s a great trail with lots of great views.

One of my favorite hikes to do in this area!

It is a great beginners trail or someone who is getting back into working out.

It was a nice hike...looking forward to trying different trails at Daley Ranch

Take plenty of water and make sure to wear sun screen. Not a lot of shade but overall a great place to go hiking.

Great hike glad I live close to this trail!

This was a fun challenging run for being 4 miles. Lots of uphill and just when I thought I had done enough and was starting to go downhill I started back up again. In all it wasn’t just 4 miles but also the equivalent of climbing 40+ flights of stairs

This is not the hike that is described here. the trails here are very limited. You can hike Wes about 1 mile in and the trails disappear. They are not maintained in the water level is very very low. I went bushwhacking for a while and turn around. I then drove over the dam on Oakvale Road to check out the Egret Trail on the south side of the lake. it is basically a service road. About a mile long and then it just ends. so I turned around and went back to the car. there are some nice rocks to climb on on the lake is very pretty. Some people were catching a few fish.

There's a dirt lot before the entrance to the park that's free to park and the trail seemed to start there. We did the loop in a clockwise fashion which we recommend now that we've completed it as it will get the big elevation change out the way first. Lots of little ups and downs closer to the shoreline. We found using the recorded path helpful as there were a few forks in the road and some paths were slightly overgrown. Porta-pottys along the way.

It was awesome the view is spectacular ! It’s cute with the two chairs up there, I got a slight sun burn on my face and neck lol so make sure to take a hat and sun screen and relax on the rocking chairs and enjoy the view ! Totally worth the hike up ! Bring water and plan on going early so you won’t catch the sun so bright!

The first mile is rough, I would recommend warming up so you don’t go from sitting to walking up crazy hills. They do have bathroom and water along trail which I found unusual but I appreciated the water. There are lots of little loops to do. The damn is really pretty. Overall a good hike!

Bring a few beers once you reach the top when sitting on those chairs. Great views overlooking a winery in the distance. Also saw a few hot air balloons as well. I believe I went on a late Sunday afternoon and had the chairs to myself for about a good hour. Definately worth it!

Great Trail lots of options to choose your distance!!!

A nice little hike. Pretty easy.

Nice trail. Definitely I will return to take side trails. Be careful, there are a lot of rattlesnakes! However, as elsewhere on such trails in California.

I got a little sunburned doing this hike! Not too much shade going up! But the chairs were super cool to sit on, had a very nice breeze at the top! My boyfriend saw a huge rattlesnake so be careful

Easy to moderate trail to the peak with a little surprise at the summit. Wedge between boulders is a metal box containing journals and pen encouraging hikers to share their experience hiking Stanley Peak. Love the idea and made sure to share my thoughts. Most of the trail is paved with loose sandy soil and only almost half a mile to the summit that the trail became rocky. Easily doable even for children who love adventures.

Quiet trail didn’t see too many people, nice breeze at the top, hardest part is the first mile .overall super fun relatively easy

Much harder then the reviews led us to believe but my husband and I found the surrounding nature to be worth the effort! LOTS of incline but it was so beautiful and peaceful

Excellent trail. Take a map if you haven't hiked it before. Go early, take plenty of water. Have fun!

Great trail with lots of options to go in different directions. We hiked a total of 7.9 miles and went up Stanley Peak which is 0.7 miles out and back to the top with nice views overlooking Escondido. Lots of elevation for a good workout plus different types of scenery, which alternated from being woodsy to a more sage brush environment.

Theres a variety of options. Paved with slight grades to completely dirt with rock, step grades, or for acomplete experience of both do the loop. Even the full loop has a few route options more difficult.

Great hike!

Great trail. Steep incline. Lots of trail choices!

Plain and simple... a must do. Can't wait to return to this loop for the fall when the rain starts!

We enjoyed this hike yesterday, even though it was twice as long as we expected at the start 10.2 miles vs. the 5.1 miles that we expected. We also thought it was end atop a 1,500 ft peak but it ended in a ridge about 700 feet. Stlll it has lots of shady trees, primarily stays in the river valley and we made great time 4 hours, because the trail was mostly sand or dirt. We hiked from a parking lot at Sunset Drive to Raptor Ridge and back.

Trail closes at 7:30. Why?
