Not bad but lots and lots of poison oak encroaching on narrow trail. Pleasant and fairly easy with some climb.

Beautiful views of the Bay Area, seeing from Vallejo all the way around to SF. Some good steep sections, but moderated by downhill and flat sections. Most of the hike cooled by ocean breezes.

I hate to write reviews because I enjoy finding gems such as this gorgeous, undercrowded hike, but this might be mine and my 4 legged friend’s new fave hike in the area. Little traffic, gorgeous views, getting that JLo butt workout in (for both myself and my Corgi’s butt), and one happy and exhausted pupper. Parking is limited, next to an elementary school, not sure you can park there. Go early. I went on a Tuesday at 9 and finished around 11 which included stops for pictures. I think best time to go may be around 7 or earlier.

P.s. saw horses, actual cowboys rounding cows up on horses, and a bull.

Back part of loop not maintained with trail sign actually reading dead end.. Extremely windy in sections. Our staff meme day and cold and cloudy but I could imagine stunning views. Ground extremely hard.

It's been a long time and nearly forgot this one. Hard to stay on track with so many side trails everywhere...

This is a fun loop with some good incline and fantastic views, however the last part of the loop is unmaintained during the summer months. Today it was extremely overgrown and lots of ticks. If you have a long haired dog I recommend staying on the wider trails. Great trail for mountain biking and trail running.

This loop has significant incline but the views are out of this world. San Francisco, Oakland, Marin, Richmond, El Sobrante and Pinole Valley Watershed are all visible from this hike. Trails can get a bit muddy after it rains.

Should be called "Poison Oak trail " and not easy.

Ok trail. Fairly steep to the top. Would not classify this as "easy." Nice views of the bay. Lots of poison oak, be mindful.

From the dog park parking lot, the trail starts to the right of the picnic tables. Bring your phone since there are a lot of false residential trails and other side trails so it's easy to get lost.

Feels more like a moderate hike with a good bit of elevation constantly for ~30mins.The trail is very narrow with a lot of growth until you finally reach the actual ridge trail at the top and then it finally opens up with some nice views.

It's nice for dogs as well but they have a lot of poison oak in some areas so be aware.

Love this trail! Perfect for an easy morning hike with my five-year-old.

We started at the Pinole Valley Park (3705 Pinole Valley Rd, Pinole, CA), and hiked to a steep trail called Downer Trail that connects with Sobrante Ridge Trail in adjacent Sobrante Ridge Regional Preserve. We hiked 6 miles under cloudy sky. The trails were still in good condition despite heavy rain few days ago. We all got a good workout.

Great little hike out and back with a little loop on the end that goes through an Alameda Manzanita grove. The only other place in the bay that it grows is Huckleberry. It's almost a moderate and easy only because it's short and reminded me quite a bit of some of the hikes in Briones. Enjoyable hike that only takes about an hour.

Nice little trail that I enjoyed doing a long time ago. I forgot finding it until I came across it here. Found it exploring on the motorcycle.

Great beginner hike. Good elevation and descents to keep you interested. Nice views - good mix on sun / shade.
Parking is $5.

Nice mix of shade and sunny spots on the trail. Scenic views once you get up the hill. Fun hike to bring your dog on but watch out for the poison oak.

Great run! Experienced a burn running uphill! Only tracked half of my experience.

I had trouble finding the trail when I was at the trailhead which also served as a picnic area. Some parts of trails weren't well marked as they were closed to the residential area. Overall I rated it as moderate to hard.

Perfect amount of distance and pitch. Don't know if I'd call this "easy." You'll work up a sweat on the way up. Nice greenery, flowers and a view of the reservoir.

For increased distance and challenge I started the Laurel Loop Trail from the Bay Area Ridge Trail; then onto the Kennedy Creek Trail, the Upper Sea Foam Trail, and then headed back to the Laurel Loop Trail. The view to the San Pablo Reservoir was breathtaking.

Beautiful. Well maintained up until the end where the trail was closed to the back side of the Ricky Ridge Trail.
