First ride on my Yeti SB150. Got a late start and there were a lot of people on trail. Because of zig zagging to social distance, spent more time on edge of single track trail. Needles to say, am now suffering from poison oak rash on arms, legs, and neck. Although I got a rash, I will never forget my first ride on new bike. I love this trail, but always start early to avoid crowds ( especially if biking). Beware the Poison Oak!!!

Beautiful trail! Wildflowers galore. Hike early to beat the heat and the crowds. Recommend a hat, sunscreen, and plenty of water. Watch out for bikes. Happy hiking!

As long as you follow the trail it’s great. Make sure you have a map so you can follow along. It was also a moderate level

Parking: if you are an early bird like me and want to start at 6am, there’s parking next to the bridge. I believe paid parking lot opens around 7am. The entire trail is beautiful. Partial trail has some shade, is rocky and is occasionally narrow. Take plenty of water though. On trail: hikers, runners, dogs, horses and bikers. Don’t forget bug spray. There’s no benches along the trail and at the destination.

This is an easy trail with nice views. Make sure you go early to avoid the worst of the sun and to get there before the mountain bikes!

It’s a rocky, muddy and not a shaded trail. Loved the hike!! You could park near the bridge for free and walk to the trail.

Be careful. Lots of poison oak off trail! Otherwise a beautiful hike. Definitely will be back! Some steep downgrade and upgrades but nothing super bad.

Love this trail. Would forever recommend this trail to everyone. I would consider this a moderate to hard trail. This trail is dog and kid friendly. There’s always a lot of mountain bikers and families who hike here. The conditions of the trail vary, but are mostly pretty rocky with a narrow path. The views are worth the hike!

Went for an evening hike. Pros: Great view of the river and lake at sunset. Enough shade on a hot day. Easy hiking. Cons: Lots of poison oak. Rattlesnake just off the trail; was coiled and ready to strike, and skunks in the way out.

fun w/shade and lake access. upped the vert and difficulty by exploring the MTB + fire trails branching off the main trail. don't forget to be aware and alert of your surroundings re: bikers esp if exploring offtrail...pretty narrow w/a lot of dirt jumps + folks enjoying them.

this was a great hike we did with our dog. we only went 1.5miles up then back down. the mile or so is a decent climb up. there wasn't much shade until the last .5 mile. there was a good amount of mountain bikes but they were kind and there was room for us to move to let them pass. I didn't see any rattle snakes or poison oak. also the parking lot was open with a $10 fee. there was constant road noise but that didn't bother us.

I got the worst poison ivy here that you've ever seen. It was incredibly bad, all over my arms, legs, and on my nose. took weeks to heal. I was practically paralyzed due to skin infections

It was alright. Wouldn’t consider it “moderate.” Was pretty easy. Just nice to be out during COVID lockdowns. Parking is $5 nice and cheap but if you don’t want to pay you can park out of the state park and walk in. A lot of bikers use this trail. Lots of shade. A lot of lake access but the lake drops down in depth very fast from the shore.

Such a nice hike! Parking closed but plentiful parking on the road. We used Waze to get there but for the second time in two hikes, it tried to send me to a different spot than the trailhead. Make sure you have a map or screenshot of where you really ARE going. Much of the trail has grasses that touch you as you pass, so do a tick check before getting in your car. Lots of butterflies, caterpillars, birds, and beautiful views. Saw only one other couple hiking. LOTS of poison oak so definitely be familiar with what it looks like. A beautiful, clean trail...didn't see one single piece of trash. :). My kids, 6 and 8, did fine on it.

Trail was great! Parked at the bridge and went in about 4 miles and turned around. Unfortunately lots of poison oak. Even more ticks. Big honkin dudes. 3 on me, 4 on my dog. Do a really thorough check when ASAP when you are done

Parking area is closed, but you can park on the side of the road. Lots of forks in the trail. Would definitely recommend bringing a map as we did. We had to reference it several times. Some of the “official” trail was overgrown with tall grass (make sure to check for ticks). Portions of the trail were wide and flat while others were single file and steep. Quite an adventure with swimming access! There also were 2-3 spots where you could get fresh drinking water, a nice addition on a hot day. Definitely a moderate trail due to some steep inclines.

Nice, moderate up and down, but not overly taxing. Lots of poison oak and ticks, found nno less than 5 to 6 on my dog after the hike and 2 on me. Parking lot is closed but able to park on the street by the bridge.

Nice trail, only did 6 miles but it was good. Not much shade and it was hot out but overall easy! Official parking is closed but there’s a place to park close by across the bridge
