on Wildhorse Loop

It's a nice walking trail on the north side of Davis. The East and North sides are nice wide gravel paths with some views of the golf course and the farms just outside of town. Nice place for an evening stroll.

Beautiful October day, all the leaves are turning colors. I parked at the Gap parking lot it’s Sunday so I didn’t get a ticket, I guess you can also park across the street from the theater. It’s an easy walk and there is a restroom when you come to the first ramp by the first building their is a sign saying restrooms are by the theater which is by the street. A lot of ducks , squirrels and turtles.

fun trail

relaxing trail to feel at one with nature, complete with some great spots to dip your toes in the water and perhaps even make some friends

Part of UC Davis - mostly paved - plenty of ducks - well marked signs detailing the plants and trees from around the world

Nice nature walk.

Nice for quiet romantic walks in the early evening. Nearby eateries are good for a quick bite, afterwards.

A long stretch with different gardens.

trail running

Great spot. I'm a little biased because I live a couple of miles away from this trail, so this isn't a review by someone who would necessarily drive 30-60 minutes to spend time here. For me, though, it is what it is - an easily accessible, quiet place for a walk or a trail run after work. I'm sure many can relate to how challenging it is to combine the work week with time spent in nature - this is a good solution for Davisites, Dixonians, and Woodlanders.

The amount of wildlife is noteworthy - turtles, fish, herons, and hawks populate the area. Not sure if the Riparian Reserve Trail would qualify as a hidden gem, however I must say it is not very crowded. Usually it consists of fishermen and runners. I get the impression that visitors put effort into not being noisy and letting everyone enjoy the solitude.

Make sure you know what poison oak looks like, it is in abundance along the trail!

In addition to getting a great walk in, as a novice birder there was some great birds to find.

Even though there are some scenic patches, I disliked two things in this trail.
1. The graffiti.
2. The noise coming from highway traffic, aircrafts, and the train.

Walk in the park.

I am looking forward to the completion of the waterway improvements. Next I plan to start from downtown Davis. :-)

Hike the trail twice once on 7 Feb 2016 and again most recently on 20 May 2017. The trail is a nice relaxing trek. Floods over the winter of 2016-2017 caused large areas of original trail to be destroyed or blocked.

Nice Stroll in the park on 12 November 2016. Was a little crowded and noisy especially around the Southwest side near the freeway. Lots of turtles and waterfowl in the waterway and various types of plants and flowers along the trail.

Passes through some of the most prominent spots in Davis! Also passes through plenty of actual bike trails, which is a good peaceful ride

Easy, nice walk. No open bathrooms around. Not a lot of shade on the trail so you wouldn't want to go on a hot day.

What a lovely time of year to do this trail! Everything blooming, perfect easy stroll. The dog thoroughly enjoyed!

More of a bike trail, but the drivers in Davis are courteous.

Great place to go for a casual walk with friends or a significant other Lots of aquatic wildlife including some adorable river otters are often around in the bigger ponds. Paved all the way around and not really a trail more of a park path

For someone coming outside of Davis, not very familiar with the city, it was very difficult to find my way without constantly referring to the map. It does make for an enjoyable walk, but I was constantly having to check the map.

Not really a trail. But this is easily the nicest place to walk around and enjoy nature in Davis.

Monday, November 14, 2016

Good for little ones.

Wednesday, October 26, 2016

It was okay. It should of had more benches. It should of had more bathrooms. But other than that it was an okay stroll in the park with the family.

Easy walk/stroll but pretty

Beautiful scenery. Green water but that will change in the next few years and doesn't stink so I'm okay with it :)
