My local trail! I have been walking this trail since I was 4 (now 25) and it never gets old. It can be hard to find parking during peak hours (weekday evenings and weekends) but always worth it. The woodsy environment is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the Bay Area. The uphills/downhills are manageable for any level. I frequently come here for walks with my mom. Runners love this trail (I personally don't run but my mom and cousin do). This is a very popular trail, so if you have headphones in please be courteous of runners or those moving faster than you!

I liked the gentle uphill and down. It felt like a good circuit workout. The people we met were friendly

Went there with my dog. We arrived very early on a weekday so we had no trouble finding parking. Morning sun was not too hot so we were fine even though there’s not too much shade. We made a detour to Hunter’s Point and the view from there ‘s wonderful!

70% shaded trail. Easy and well maintained. Gradual ascent and descent throughout.

Did this trail twice, turned back around where there’s a little bridge and a bench on the Tony Look Trail. Took my dog with me both times. Be ware of ticks! My dog got a tick the first time but he didn’t get anything after I sprayed him down with tick prevention spray the second time. It’s a nice trail! My dog loves it there. Only “bad” thing is you have to pay for parking.... but there are always spots!

Great trail, good shade, moderate, good for dogs on short leash (shared with mountain bikers).

Not a bad trail, but not a lot of shade for pets and lots of bikers passing on a narrow trail.

We started off going to the left of the loop, which was a lot of open unshaded incline. Definitely was a lot longer than we thought. Started at 8:30 got off about 12. We did like the different treads, not very many people out there.

My go to hike

Running it counter clockwise makes all the uphill climbs in the shade!

nice hike. better to do early on hot day.

My daughter loved the animals. We would definitely do this hike again just to visit with them.

Pretty exposed. No rest. Not much in the way of a view unless you like looking at Cupertino and spaceships.

great hike, limited parking

Great hike with a good amount of shade. Lots of up and down slopes which provides a substantial work out. Relatively popular but not overly crowded. Parking is a challenge so do beware.

As someone who hasn't been hiking much in a while, I found this hike challenging but do-able. I highly recommend going to the right (East) first to get the really steep part out of the way first (I imagine it's also really hard on the knees to go down that slope). It's tough but less than a mile.

The GPS sent me to a trailhead on the side of the road with no parking lot, but there was space for maybe 4 cars to park there. There may be a better place nearby to park further south but I didn't look because there was space at the trailhead.

It's about 50% shaded, and the trees are really beautiful.

I went on a nice Saturday afternoon, and although I did see a few other hikers, it was nowhere near as busy as some of the more obvious trails that are this close to residential areas.

Nice short loop for trail running or hiking with older kids.

Overall a decent trail. The first half was nice, with a good amount of shade. The trail got very steep in the middle, and the second half was almost completely exposed to the sun. The second half was also a biking trail and had good views, but was pretty uncomfortable on a hot day (~90 degrees).

Good variety of terrain. Good steep sections with flat sections in between. Enough shade to not burn under the sun. Loved it!

I run a shorter loop of this trail. It’s 5 miles and I love the way it flows. The view from the top is incredible.

We enjoyed the hike. Enjoyed the views and single track hike. Lots of animals, birds and butterflies out. Forest got some love at Hunters point (not on but nearby the loop).

Beautiful scenery and great view on top of hill
Map looks trail is small but not :)

Its a moderate trail and we probably took a longer loop and ended up at around 6.7 miles. Some hills were challenging for us, but fun. View was okay.

The trail was beautiful and it was nice for a Sabbath walk/hike. The hikes/walks are different from the hikes I like to do on any other day of the week. I actually slow down on Sabbath. It was my first time there, I will go back. The farm was a cute unexpected surprise on the walk. ☺
The advice I can give is, go early it was hard to find parking, it was full.

Great afternoon hike with the family

Beautiful trail and views just ALOT of poison oak is why I removed one star

This trail is especially beautiful during rainy season. It's much more green than some of the other trails in the area! In the summer it's nothing special and I'd rather go elsewhere. It's worth the extra .25 to .5 miles to go to the top of Maisie's Peak on a clear day!
