Steep incline at the beginning of the hike, but after that is a pretty mellow hike.

The trailhead posted on the map, at the Cummings Skyway, is no longer accessible. The correct way to access this trail should be at the Crockett Ranch parking lot from the Crockett Blvd. For this I take out one star.

Great views of the bay/Vallejo bridge area! Saw lots of cows poop too.

Nice parking lots with plenty of room. There were some people fishing at the dock by the parking lot. Overall a very chill hike with beautiful views. Very little foot traffic. Part of the hike rolls through a small stretch of a residential neighborhood. Had to go through the center of a heard of cows, they didn’t seem to care.

Little overgrown but still fun. Lots of cows. Watch for the catties

A wonderful, well-groomed gem that I am stunned wasn’t more packed than it was when I went. Sweeping views of the bay and the East Bay hills. Decent little bit of grade, but no harsh climbs. On a beautiful Sunday literally had several moments of a half-hour without seeing a single soul. Parking lot right at the trail head. Probably a potential tick site, so would be careful with that, but otherwise, highly recommended.

Pleasant surprise, great mixture of open space & shade, and a nice surprise once you get thru the eucalyptus knolls as you stroll into Port Costa all the benches and table located along the way a big plus. Views of the water and communities across the bay and occasionally train passing by, puts this place on our list of places to come back to.

Great trail. Cow piles throughout, so watch out.

Gorgeous hike. Way better than we expected. Only saw about 4 other people all day.

Beautiful trail with beautiful bay views and lots of wild flowers. We found a pond with frogs, saw poppies, buttercups, mustard flowers and more. Parking and trail location is difficult. But otherwise wonderful.

Very pretty trail with view of the water and many grazing cows. Part of the trail passes through the town of Port Costa, which was very picturesque. But beware of the cow pancakes, they are everywhere.

No one on trail. Beautiful views. Birds and flowers. Kestrel Trail is practically non existent / grown over.

This trial it’s very nice great for beginners Trail very clean lovely view in spots to rest you’re able to see cattle.

Not crowdy Lots of mountain bikes Pretty views Beginning of flower blooming (beginning of March) Outhouse halfway Dogs allowed

Perfectly moderate hike or walk. Sound pollution remains, but a bit quieter.

Surprisingly good trail. The drive in was nice (no public transit option), parking was free. Good single track path and I appreciate the bikers that were experienced enough to bypass us as there are dangers with poison ivy and ticks when you stand off trail. Definitely a good hike for long shirt and pants. Nice views and a mix of forest and rolling hills. Good smells and the cherry blossoms are currently in bloom.

can anyone mark the picnic table on this map?

This is great for what it was. The perfect Sunday hike with ships and views and cows and the cute town of Port Costa.

I love this hike! Lush rolling hills for days and great views of the water once you cross the freeway. People are friendly and is an absolute dog heaven as long as you bring plenty of water for you and the pups!

The trail is apparently fenced off. We tried to access it today, all kinds of tires and garbage where the fence now was.

Beautiful trail when the hills are green and the wildflowers are starting to come out. Not a lot of shade so be sure to bring a hat.

Directions took me to a fire trail

very nice trail. didn't know which way to go once I got to the eucalyptus woods . you can go straight , left or right. will do this again and go left next time! watch out for cow poo poo!

A lot of poison oak and no shade. It’s probably very hot in the summer. Good for training, but not a fantastic place. Quite a few bike trails. They are actually more fun than the other trails and fire roads.

It’s a great park and trails. Slightly muddy in the shaded areas. If you follow my path here the incline gives a fair workout early and it gets pretty easy after that. Great scenery this time of year (Jan). It is a great mountain bike park so be on the lookout for bikers. Nice Park

Love it! We are going to do it again should be rated 4.3

The peak offers great views of Benicia and the surrounding water.

Great trail, beautiful views. When you get in the valley you don’t hear a sound. The down side of this Regional Park is it is a very popular trail bike park so you have to always give way to some polite and some not polite bikers.
