I did the South Kelsey Trail. It's very steep in the beginning with a thin trail (don't trip), then you get to a nice cabin at Buck Creek where there is a great swimming spot next to a waterfall! Keep going and get to Elkhorn where thier are a bunch of mosquitos!! 1 mile past that is 8-mile creek which also offers a great swimming spot! This hike is full of lovely views, and magical trails.

It’s actually about 12 miles if you do the full loop. Beautiful. The creek is gorgeous. Entire path is trees and trees and trees. It doesn’t really have any killer view points. It did at one point but the trees have taken over, which is ok!

Rattle snake on the trail! Be careful

nice trail , water very low in river.

Beautiful trail. Did this around 8am on 8/7 and did not see another person until I was on my way back. The trail is however very over grown and poison oak is ubiquitous.

Absolutely amazing part of the Jed Smith Redwoods. This is by no means a strenuous “hike”. It is a majestic 5 mile walk among some of the largest trees in the world. I highly recommend to ignore the clock and gps (neither of which you need in the first place) and fully experience this sacred trail for what it is. Take your time and go early.

2hr 45mins with 11 and 15 yr old. Measured 6.2 miles incl the falls. Great hike, great redwoods. Roots slow you down a bit but good payoffs at the end of the out and back at boy scout tree and waterfall. Cruddy gravel road to get there. Supposedly the most popular trail in Jedediah but we got there at 2pm on a Wednesday (Aug 1) and parked right at the trail head.

Epic trail

Good trail. Lots of great views. We encountered a rattlesnake. Added a little extra fun to our hike.

My GPS said this was 11 miles. I thoroughly enjoyed this trail. Beautiful redwoods and ferns along the entire way, plus Mill creek is a nice spot for a break. Took us 3.5 hours to do it, never saw anyone on the trail just at the parking area. Will definitely do this one again.

Easy hiking and connects with other trails in the area.

Really nice walk, great for a campground trail

Trail was pretty dry this time of year, no mud. There is a small sign for the Boy Scout tree that veers off the trail to the right and up a ways. We missed it on the way to the little falls, but caught it on the way back. Nice trail. I’m willing to bet it’s not nearly as crowded as in the Redwoods National Park, and probably just about as good. Keep an eye on the trail, the roots can really trip you up. This took me and my sister about 2 hours total walking about 3-4 mph.

Absolutely incredible Redwoods & forest. Like hiking through the primordial period.

good hike to start if you're getting back into trail running.

wonderful hike in the redwoods! We started about 8am, had the trail & waterfalls to ourselves. Met lots of people going back.. go early! Poles can keep you from tripping on the roots!

Stunning walk with the Redwoods!

Awe-inspiring hike. Walking among these giants is so incredible. Once you get to the Boy Scout tree, you could easily turn around and have seen all the best stuff. The tiny waterfall at the end isn’t much to see. But the trees on the way are amazing. Hardest part is trying not to trip as you look up!

AMAZING!!!

Oh it’s a dusty road but plenty of turn outs for cars to pass.

Nice easy walk with big trees.

Doing the whole hike is super worth it. Other than some poison oak being present, the trail was very peaceful and a good workout at some points.

Good loop trail with great trees. Needs the road in upgraded. Worth the time

Nice trees near the river. We wish the county would blacktop the road to keep the dust down around the place, but it’s nice anyway

We loved this hike! They are in the process of upgrading the trail areas, but it’s still a great area to hike. Good loops for those who want to get back to their cars. No road noise and few people.

Beautiful hike , pretty easy but worth the drive . More used trail than I thought it would be. I was not disappointed

This is why you visit the Redwoods!
A walk along the Giants.

beautiful high beginners interpretive trail. It ends at a awesome spot by the creek. Nice short hike.
