This is not skyline. This is the dozer line that was opened up during the fire. Skyline is just to the north. It’s hot and steep. A good workout.

Good trail to hike up with no shade . Be sure to bee enough water during hot season, moderate hike you can run down hill after the Dobler “Big white round ball at the peak”
There’s are some fun trail along the fire road.

If you're smarter than I am, you will want to do the following:
1. Given the steep grade and loose terrain, trekking poles would have helped a lot. And maybe some snow skis for the decent.
2. Pick a cool day. Once you leave the canyon (early on) it's pretty much ridgeline hiking the whole way, and you're completely exposed.
3. Think of this more as a workout than a hike. It's like interval training for hikers, with super steep inclines interrupted periodically by flattish terrain. And the higher you go, the steeper and looser the course.
4. Gaiters wouldn't have been a bad idea either.

Too short of a hike, but not short of graffiti
Our kids loved all the colors

Trail still closed

Trail closed until August 2019.

The trail to the mine is still CLOSED due to the fire

it was pretty nice until the very end. The trail got very narrow and sketchy towards the end.

Trail open all the way to the Doppler radar, despite the fire damage all along and right up to the sides of the trail.
still one of my favorites.
Enjoy!

Parking for this trail is on Foothill Parkway, not in the neighborhood. This was a great hike. I did it in the evening starting at 5:30 PM. Total hike to Beeks Place and back was a brisk 3 hours for me - I am pretty fast and ran part of the way down. I watched the sunset on the hike down and enjoyed the city lights from Corona. I highly recommend an evening hike - there was a lot of shade on the way up and hiking after sunset was not an issue - lots of ambient light and there were other hikers and MTBs too. I had a great view of the crescent moon with Jupiter trailing in the western sky with a lovely view of Mars to the south. When I got to Bleeks Place, the gate was closed (easy to go around) with a sign that said "Closed to all uses" with the Trabuco Canyon Ranger Stations phone number.

8/4/18 - Came here with my boyfriend and 6month old pup. It was hard to find the entrance but we lucked out by seeing another couple Park and climb up. If you see the Lake Hills sign that’s where you begin your hike. I’ve lived in Corona for 14 years and the first time hiking here so it was beautiful! Didn’t know Corona had hidden treasures. This hike was not so long and easy to follow with the colorful graffiti guiding you.

This is a fire trail that is maintained & a good conditioning hike but for a good workout take the short cuts. Unfortunately the recent fire has closed the trail for a while.

Hiked this trail a few times as a conditioning trail in the evenings, nice view from the top. Not to boring but enough to give you a workout.

Fun trail. We took Indian Truck Trail and went right at the main divide up to Santiago Peak. Trail was easy in our stock Rubicon with about three rocky parts with erosion ruts but they were fun. Highly recommend for an afternoon that is close to home. Took us about three hours round trip.

It was a good easy hike, it is definitely kid friendly, had a good time.

It’s open and the weather was great...started at 6am...

Dusty lots of motorcycle, ATV’s, and trucks pretty views up by the top but really long to walk but probably really fun on a dirt bike. Don’t go into the asian cultured reservoir though keep right. Although we didn’t go that far because it was a hot day but not a lot to look it and not a lot of shade. ***I RECOMMEND THIS AS A DIRT BIKE OR ATV RIDE.

Not my favorite trail mainly because your right along the freeway for most the way and mostly the only thing you see is the 91 and the traffic in the morning. The abandoned building toward the top is not actually part of the trail but that was cool to go look at too.

Good hike for warm days.
Mostly shade

Easy to find trails difficult to find which trail is what. We were trying to find tin mine (this is before I found this app) and we followed the main trail to the Doppler thinking it was tin mine. We went 5 miles up until some lady’s that stopped us told us that it is 5 miles back down the direction we came and two miles out. As we walked down with them they told us about all trail app which is SOO nice. I just wish they had more signs.

Make sure you go straight past those rocks when you get to the hiking information board and you will find a maker called nature trail. Super easy and fun walk but lots of poison oak so just stay on the trail. One of Coronas hidden historical places. Many people probably didn’t know that that mine was here long before corona was established and before people even decided to settle here so lots of historical importance to this mine which is overlooked.

Pretty good hike. Not too busy for a 4th of July
