Fun trail, fairly flat....couple underwater spots but easy enough to skirt past or simply go around.

HikingGreat!

great trail, the mapped trail listed here is a great workout especially on the way back up. this trail will take you to a small beach area of the lake if you want to see the falls you have to drive past the first parking area (about a 12 min drive) you do have to pay for parking $10 but the falls are right there. otherwise there are some spots to park along the road.

Nice rolling terrain. Would be interesting to see and compare it during different seasons. Right now ground is dry and oak trees are leafed out. Imagine green grasses in winter and naked oaks! Lots of sun. In Sept. Go early.

Very eerie, silent, and low trafficked trail in mountain lion territory. Bring pant for the brush and hike with a buddy, then it’s be great

Nice way to start a Saturday morning. Lots of history on the hike in the form of many indigenous people you see along the way.

Going down is easy breezy and coming back up is a bit challenging but so rewarding in the end!

A good trail! We took the wide service road (nice for walking side by side), a right at the fork from where we parked. Pretty steep down and up, leads to a nice little cove that’s perfect to swim in! (Has a floating bathroom that’s closed for the season). It’s not the dam, so we’ll find that next time haha

HikingFeeNo shade

Easy trail, bring water as there is no shade! Dam is beautiful, if you get close enough you will get sprayed by water. Nice spots to get close to water with some areas of rock jumping. Besides $10 parki fee at some areas and a lot of traffic ( some with mask, some not) this is Definitely one if my favorites so far.

It’s lovely! We went the wrong way haha but found this loop that looks like a heart, so that’s a win. Excited to come back to explore more!

FeeGreat!Rocky

The scenery was beautiful. Parking was a bit hard to find but once found it was great. Be aware that you will have to pay for parking but it is cheap. The water was nice and cold with plenty of areas to enjoy and relax. The hiking trail was pretty long but we'll worth the walk. once finally reaching the top or end of trail the views are outstanding. Having a camera and water really comes in handy.

This was difficult on the way back. Downhill the whole way there and uphill the whole way back. Bring lots of water. My 32 oz Hydro was not enough. The hike was scenic and beautiful.

Lots of ticks & stickers! Hot, dusty and not much shade. My least favorite hike I've taken to date. Our dog was covered in stickers (& ticks...blech). If I'd been riding a horse I would rate this much higher. Very easy terrain to navigate.

Started on the trail by 7 am, and glad we did! So many people were heading in, on our way out. We started in the trail, and at the fork, we took the trail to the left, that goes by the river. It was awesome hiking by the river, but never took you to the actual lake. Unless you hiked down the paved road at the end of the trail. Will try taking the upper trail to the right next time. But really enjoyed it!

Wonderful hike! There are 2 sections on the hike that are washed-out, but there are detours that are only a bit out of the way! Totally doable, great hike! Fun water features along the way as well!
