Not too bad of a hike, especially with the river running along with the trail.

HikingFeeGreat!

A beautiful hike along the American river to the lake Clementine Spillway. Nice views of Foresthill Bridge(NorCal’s tallest bridge) on the way. Recommend to Start hike early as it gets super crowded later in the day,

HikingGreat!

Hike was good, nothing too difficult. Some parts did get narrow, tougher with bikes and other people walking the other way. Start earlier than later is my recommendation. $10 bucks for parking and remember to take your valuables!

great trail, the mapped trail listed here is a great workout especially on the way back up. this trail will take you to a small beach area of the lake if you want to see the falls you have to drive past the first parking area (about a 12 min drive) you do have to pay for parking $10 but the falls are right there. otherwise there are some spots to park along the road.

It was nicely shaded and parts of the trail were a pretty decent incline. We hit the trail counter-clockwise so we managed to get the incline over at Maine Bar Trail which made the hike worth it.

Nike uphill hike with a route that takes you to the lake. A small ledge gets you closer to the foot of the damn. Pretty heavy traffic on a Saturday morning so be patient.

Lots of people and I arrived at sunrise. Plus, the trails and views are mediocre, especially for this area. Glad to have completed this trail, but couldn’t wait for it to finish.

Nice way to start a Saturday morning. Lots of history on the hike in the form of many indigenous people you see along the way.

Good hike. Not very hard, trail is wide. I did not realize roadside parking was by paid permit so I got a $71 ticket. My fault. Didn’t see the signs. I would bring a bathing suit so you can take dip at the end of the hike.

HikingGreat!

The trail was great! There wasn’t shade for the first quarter of a mile, but was great for the rest of the hike. A bit uphill which made it more fun. You’re also hiking next to a river/dam stream which is amazing and if you look close enough you’ll see a spot to go down and swim in a more secluded area!

Really enjoyed this trail. We went early to avoid the heat and have fewer people. It is well shaded most of the morning. It is HEAVILY used. There were a LOT of people - even early. As we were leaving there were even more people. Glad we went early! The water falling over the dam was really cool. We stopped at Clark’s pool in our way out and had a swim. It was very nice. Will definitely do this again. The trail does narrow to single person width at few points.

Want to chase waterfalls? Then Lake Clementine is your destination. Note: go early if you don't want to bask in the sun. Trail is half dirt and half paved. Lake Clementine has lots to offer such as swimming, mountain biking, hiking, picnicking, or just wanting to be with one with nature.

Perfect trail to take the family out on. It’s pretty easy and has a nice rewarding “waterfall” at the dam, which is where this trail ends. On the way back we stopped down by the water to dip our feet in, but many people were eating, drinking, and swimming as the water was clear and calm. Perfect way to stay active while beating the heat! Don’t forget to pay for parking ($10, cash only) and park inside the lines to avoid tickets.
