Beautiful well marked trail, great views along the river. Definitely recommend this hike, it’s moderate in terms of distance, no difficult parts. Also great for trail running.

This was an awesome trail! I am using hiking as a means to get into better shape, so, this was definitely a challenge. Worth the hike back up though! Lovely views, bring plenty of water, in shape or not!

This is definitely a hard hike, and it's more 2.5 miles than 2. It was good, though, and I only encountered one other person on this beautiful spring Sunday afternoon. There is some shade, but plenty of sun, too. Later in the summer, I'm sure the river is a joy to swim or wade in.

Very little shade so do this one on a cooler day. There are a few water crossings and one big waterfall crossing, but we were able to get past safely even with a dog. 4.5 miles down to the river and 4.5 miles alllll the way back up. I recommended bringing a lunch and staying a while down at the river because it’s beautiful and you’ll want to rest up for the butt kicking workout you’re going to get on the way back up :) Exhausting but great hike!

Fun trail, but I could imagine the lack of shade to be an issue in the hotter months.

Be careful of ticks, I got one in my hip and the dog was infested..
This trail could be considered hard because of narrow spots and falling trees.

Highly recommended trail. Just finished it here on a moderate day in the end of Feb with my six children. My 4 year old in a carrier, 6, 8, 10, 12, and 13 year olds on foot. They loved it. We certainly prefer hikes where there isn't a decline for the first half though... the trip back is a real push for the little ones and carrying a nearly 40 lb child. Hah. Others covered all the sights so no need for me to repeat. We went quite a ways into the abandoned mine with no mountain lion to be seen. The payoff near the end at the North Fork is so good, and I imagine even more worth it during warm months.

this trail was great, we went earlier in the morning and got some amazing views. Would definitely not recommend bringing young kids, it’s a pretty difficult hike. A lot of crossing water and rocks.

**Don't go with a dog that sometimes gets carsick**
The road down is no joke. I ended up having to turn around and didn't get to do the hike because my dog got sick when we were still 8mi from the trailhead bc of all the turns.
What I saw of the area is rad, though--I definitely plan to go back and actually do the hike (without that dog).

Such a great little hike. if you can enjoy the road getting here, you'll enjoy the trail. not for faint of heart or unstable ones, if you're an avid hiker, this won't be hard at all. enjoyable and challenging enough for a good outing. went in Jan about 50 degrees, no bugs or poison oak. just sweet guide Penny. she's a border collie with a red bandana who enjoys escorting you to the river. she jumped ship on one family and joined us and on our way back up she again jumped ship and joined the next. she loves to play fetch so brace yourself for her demanding bark. will definitely be doing it again in the cool winter months.

Super fun easy afternoon hike! It looks a lot steeper than it actually is and was very beautiful. There are quite a few places where the trail splits so be mindful of checking where you are! Highly recommend for a fun local hike

Love this hike! Did it in May and again in late December. In May we got a view of tons of really colorful flowers that were on the cliff side. In December there were no flowers but we saw the hibernating lady bugs which was amazing. Be careful towards the end of the hike when you cross the fallen tree over the creek. The ladybugs are ALL around there covering every branch and on the tree stumps. We did not even see them until we were on our way back up the trail after hanging on the rocks by the river. The way back is pretty much all incline but not too steep except for short hills.

The views along the river were great, and I can see how Indian Creek would be pretty if the elephant ears were in season or the water flowing for active waterfalls. The ticks were unbelievable. Between myself and my dog we probably had a couple hundred on us. Luckily i only had one attach, but my poor dog had 50-100 on her.

Great hike, waterfall, view of the river nearly the entire time. There's a small path off to the right, coming in, maybe a quarter or half of the way in, and it leads to a great view on some large rocks. You have to duck a little to walk through the path. Hope you find it.

The hike was beautiful. I brought my dog and there were tons of ticks on him. This is definitely an intermediate hike. The way back was a bit of a challenge since it’s mostly uphill but the views made it worth it.

Went on a Saturday, and saw about a dozen other people throughout our hike. We got lost because a tree had fallen shortly after the difficult crossing (you'll know it when you get there), and it covered the path. We ended up on the mountain biking path for awhile, and then circled back towards the beginning. We had plenty of time, so we did the hike again to see where we'd gone wrong. After the tough crossing, make sure you stay to the left, along the side of the canyon.

It's a pretty easy trail otherwise. Not too much elevation gain, and some really lovely views. It wasn't cold at all when we went. The lady bugs were incredible. We brought our dog, and she had a blast.

lots more shade than the other side of the river

Def intermediate. Did this hike in the beginning of Nov. Unfortunately, the cave was occupied with a mountain lion, who was coming towards us with a growl, as i approached inside with the flashlight. After getting to the bottom of the river, we hiked further up for about another 30min. There were no other hikers seen

We only did the first 1.5 and it was very steep. Bring water for you and your pets! No views in that section of the trail.
