Still a little too early (May 29) to make it all the way around. Lots of snow, I lost the trail more than a few times, due to snow. Took waaay longer than I’d hoped for (again, because it was too early in the season). In approx 5.3 miles, I logged over 15,000 steps. I typically walk 10,000 steps in that same mileage.

Quick walk. Paved. Beautiful falls.

Beautiful! Perfect distance. Perfect difficulty level (for us). Loved the drive to get there! Amazing scenery. We all agreed it was 5 stars!

it was raining today road was flooded in two spots

The most beautiful waterfall I have ever seen. It is about 100 yards to the bottom. Very short hike. Maybe .5 miles at best. We did find a geocache off trail from 2005 to date. We added to it, left a note on the notebook etc. very beautiful paved trail.

Loved the trail. Still some snow on the way a up to the trail and just a little on the trail itself. The drive up the mountain is about 20 Minutes long. I brought my dogs and they loved it.

We went in April and it was full of snow. I guess we should have waited a little bit. But it was good one.

Enjoyed very much. Mid November perfect weather. Saw no one on trail.

It takes at least 20 minutes to drive from the Hwy to the trailhead, but it is a very easy hike with a well kept paved trail all the way up to the waterfall. It’s ideal for all ages and even pets too. The falls are so beautiful if you go in the spring time or early summer when the river is full.

Stunning country. Large rock steps hard on my knees but a nice trail

This trail has amazing views. The section along the Mt Elwell side of the lake might be difficult for anyone with a fear of heights as it is very narrow and rocky.

It’s a lot of uphill. 5 mile loop from Lakes Basin trailhead. An early start is best since much of it is full sun. The light is best for photos in the early am as well. We met at the trailhead at 7:30 am. Got going about 7:45 finished at 11 am.

Perfect short hike / walk. Trail is paved and in pristine condition! Perfect for little kids / elderly / wheel chair friendly too! It was getting evening time and I had my kids with me and no bear spray. So, I didn’t want to take the chance of a run in with my kids- and so, we’ll just have to come back again! We just went a little ways out and back! We could hear the falls when we got to the bridge and they sounded lovely- but turned around there to head back. If I was by myself I would’ve definitely gone- but I don’t chance things when I have my kids. Beautiful area.

Pretty hike to the lodge. This trail also ends up by the Smith Lake Trailhead, so you can make it into a much longer hike/loop if you wish to head down and around from Smith Lake to the creek trail and back around.

Nice little fully paved trail to the overlook. I imagine the falls are flowing much better earlier in the summer, but still worth the walk up!

Beautiful trail. Well maintained. I took my 6 year old daughter and she managed okay. There were a few parts that were a bit too much uphill and tiring for her, but we managed. There's a picture-esque photo at just about every turn. We stayed in a tent at Lakes Basin CG, and it was better than I could have ever anticipated.

Did this hike 8/8/19. Did this on a total whim as I had only pre-found several hikes prior to losing cell service on my camping trip. Did this with my chiweenie. I’m in good shape and am 35 years old. I would rate as 7/10 in difficulty as the final ascent is LEGIT. It took 30 minutes for me to descend about 900 feet. Last portion is a rock scramble up. My chiweenie made it so it’s doable. Make sure you go ALL THE WAY up to the left when you reach summit. There is a scroll to sign there! The views are great. Many lakes and just so peaceful!!! The hike back on other side of loop (bear lake) does have some rolling hills so be ready for that! Easy to find. Parking available. Trail we marked. Mix of shade and exposed. Terrain is pretty easy except for last scramble. No snow as of 8/18/19. Very few people which I loved! Highly recommend.

There was no "creek" visible for any part of the NE section that we hiked from the Lodge Road. Very "woodsy" but not much to see.

Great during August. Tried it end of May early June and was completely washed out. Closer to 5.7 to parking lot!

Super easy morning walk enjoyed by everyone from a 2 year old to two 72 year olds. Senior dogs also managed it easily. Great views along the way. Thanks to the Lions Club and volunteers for establishing such an accessible path.

Easy walk on paved trail. The falls aren’t ripping right now, but still cool to see.

This trail with the summit totaled out at 7.5 miles. Took 4 hours. Nice trail-crushed granite, some stream crossings-all easy. Some snow along the trail but didn't interfere with trail. A lot of uphill but didn't seem too strenuous. Just a nice workout with gorgeous views of the many alpine lakes. Trekking poles helpful due to loose stone on descents and sunscreen recommended as often hiking in full sun at elevation.

Hiked with Kylie 07/20/19.

We hiked the trail to smith lake. Really pretty, shaded and easy trail. The trail is largely dirt so nothing sharp to hurt dog paw pads.

Easy walk for my 6-yr old twins and my 79-yr old mom. Paved and leads to a great view of epic waterfall. A nice add-on hike to our drive today, about a 30-40 minute adventure.
