Excellent hike in late May, with enough porta-potties and benches with shaded rest areas. Parking was $7.

Today the circle back point on the trail was closed so I had to walk down to Mountain street and walk up the street back to where my car was parked. Great incline walk but disappointed that the trail back was closed.

Fun trail , meanders side to side, incline, decline. Streams, boulders, forest vibe. Lit treasure trove of nature. My group really like it!

Great trail Amazing views of nature

The park will be closed June 1-3 for routine maintenance. Hey Nancy, face masks ARE required on trail when you are near people who don't live with you, which is basically the whole hike now. There are signs when you drive into the park stating that masks are required. CHWP even sent an email 2 days ago stating masks are required when you are around people you don't live with - get it? How hard is it to wear a banana around your neck and pull it on when someone passes you on the trail? Or is it your God-given right to infect other people? Come here at your own risk, or pick a different trail. The general population can't be trusted to do the right thing.

I’ve enjoyed this hike and have done it a few times. It’s perfect as a transition hike from easy to moderate. **I visited on May 28, 2020 and the trail was closed if you’re trying to access from the yellow gate. But I’ve heard you can still hike it if you access from the Claremont loop.

Steep trail towards the top, but worth it when we got to the top. Barely any shade, bring shades/hats.

This is open, you have to go right, they are doing one way traffic , great for social distancing

Solid trail for a nice and relaxed trail run with a gradual incline. It’s long but not as strenuous as going up in the mountains. Like others have said, you park at Oak Mesa Elementary School and walk through a neighborhood to get to the trail. I like that most of it is very wooded and offers a lot of shade unlike most trails in the area. There are a couple spots where you have to go over shallow water, but there are enough rocks in the water that you can walk on to get to the other side if you don’t want to get your feet wet. Watch out for bikers, there are a lot of them.

It was overall a nice trail, but my friend accidentally stepped on a snake and we saw another one while going up. There’s a lot of wildlife, bees, ticks, spiders, etc. It’s very overgrown as well.

Gale mountain out and back from the dirt road side. Start at Mountain Avenue, at the Thompson Creek Trail to the trail head to Gale Mountain Towers. Skip the asphalt road going down and came back the same way we went up. This adds about another mile to the overall distance compared to the normal Gale Mountain Loop.

Fantastic trail - just what I needed to shake off the Shelter-at-home blues. Do bring lots of water. Great views. Trail open on May 25, 2020.

Went here for a family hike with our little dog. Very easy route for kids 10 years and under. Went mountain bike here with my MTB. It’s an easy trail. Lots of shades. Parking is very odd because you park at a school and walk/bike through a neighborhood to get to the trail.

Went today got there at 6:50am both lots full had to park 1 mile down the street great hike I burned 1200+ calories staff friendly

Great trail. Lots of available porta potty. Mandatory to wear a mask currently.. and it’s one way trekking for now..rangers and staff all around to make things run smooth .. parking is a pain but the rangers help you get a spot as people come down and leave. $7 for the weekend $5 for weekdays .. beautiful views ..
