Pretty trail in the fall!

Fun hike, a lot of shade. Connector trails to the parking areas make porta-potties easily accessible. If you can, at least get as far as Brown's Hole. No diving per se, but great swimming.

on Upper Bidwell Trail

This was my first trip to the park. It is a great long loop from Horseshoe Lake using Upper trail to B to Yahi. I wouldn't advise in the heat of summer. The views are fantastic. There were a few bikes, not many people. I would do it again.

Great ride with many difficult passages. I admit to walking the sections with dangerous dropoffs. I also admit to praying for the end of the trail to appear much sooner than it did! Bring lots of water.Be safe.

Beautiful spring day hike. Birds, flowers, lake, rocks, bike trails. So much to see and do. Dog friendly as well

The views are great! I went in October and it was pretty dry. About 2 miles in I realized the rocks had cut my dog’s paw. We had to limp back up the rocky terrain. I would recommend no dogs or have booties for them. Great exercise for me though.

Nice easy walk! Lots of trails around so it can be confusing but it’s still a nice trail for a walk.

It wa awesome, my kiddos loved it. Pack plenty of healthy snacks if you take kids. Great way to motivate them and give them energy.

Great hike. The end has a great payoff with fantastic views of the basalt rock formations

Fantastic trail. My kiddos had so much fun. We are living in a digital world, so taking the kiddos hiking brings us all back to a simplistic view. Can't wait to do the rest of the trails at Upper Boswell.

We took the trail to the north. This is more of an access road for Hwy. 32. Although there are parts of trails to walk they are not scenic. It has areas that people used as dump sites. As a woman I wouldn't hike this alone. We came across a sketchy looking individual. The trail going through the disc golf area may be better.

Bird's eye view of upper park is amazing! Great hike but beware of the mountain bikers - lots of blind corners.

This hike was definitely a good one to start out with. Very flat, simple and short. Seems like a great place to bring your dogs!

The walk up is really ugly, but coming down is great. Recommend doing at sunset or sunrise

nice easy trail along the creek to multiple swimming holes

The first part of this hike was not pretty. Lol. And most of the trails were streams. If you want to go after it rains, be sure to have water proof hiking boots.

The view from the point does not disappoint. It's beautiful. There is a disc golf course here so watch your head. :)

Fun little beginner trail with some short technical obstacles can be done by most riders.

It's a great long ride with amazing views . Can be narrow and technical requires low speed stability skills.

Loved being next to the creek for most of the hike.

Upper Bidwell Park is one of Chico's many attractions. While the trails will not pose a challenge for any serious hiker, the park is a fun place to explore. There are many different routes that offer a variety of experiences. There are several different swimming holes you can hike to as well. This place is more of a recreation area for locals, but if you are visiting Chico or any neighboring cities, it is definitely worth the trip.

We hiked this 4th of July weekend 2016. Easy mostly flat hiking but long. We didn't do the loop. Got to the end but then came down the same way rather than crossing over the water. Nice hike. A lot was shaded and close to water. Worth hiking up to the end. Bring plenty of water. Finding the start of the trail was a little confusing because it's thru a golf course.
