Hiked on 7Nov2019. A nice walk around a portion of a large water reservoir. Reports of tics on the trail are obsolete since they bulldozed the entire length of the trail at least 10 feet wide. Saw one tarantula and numerous birds, but not much else. Quiet and empty, with 10 plywood port-a-potty’s along the way to give us something to joke about. Overall, meh. Once is enough.

A bit scruffy, warm, and dry but a wonderful payoff at the end with incredible ocean views.

Easy walk to nice coastal views. Saw some deer and heard there were 3 whales spotted.

(My 10 Year Old Daughter’s review:) It was so much fun going on this hike! If you put on bug spray and stay on your the main trail, you should not have a problem with ticks. We got there at about seven a.m. and it was a nice cool hike!

Been on this hike several times. It’s an easy hike with a wide trail without intense elevation gain. The trailhead is directly off hwy 101 on the right (when heading south) and has a nice parking lot. There is a restroom (well, portable toilet) shortly after you start the hike when the road forks (take a short fork to your right - it is next to a small abandoned structure). First half of the hike is through vernal pools/wetlands (in the spring). The second half is a lovely bluff trail with many opportunities to climb out on the rocks to get closer to the water.

Nice wide trail to the ocean. Some elevation but not too much for us 60+ year olds. Used bug spray for ticks and were fine

Great hike (easy) with a shoreline to yourself at the end. Sea bluffs, small beach areas, benches. Beautiful.

Loved this quick trail, super kid-friendly, but we were literally covered in ticks when we left. Wish I would have looked at the comments first! Over all it was a really nice little walk!

Only giving it 2 stars because it’s overgrown and lots of holes on the trail. I definitely want to come back once it’s green and check it out. Didn’t finish the entire trail due to warmer then expected weather and snake sighting. Will come back and revise. Views are amazing!!

The trail had amazing views and even some wildlife. However, there were ticks on the rocks that were all over us.

Ticks. I don’t recall years ago having any on me and this time we all did. Please check yourself thoroughly.

TICKS!! I pulled off at minimum 20 ticks off my dog and 5 off myself. And I only did half the hike. Other than the ticks it would be a cool mellow hike/walk. Not worth it for me though. This was in early May 2019 btw

Great walk on a sunny or cloudy day. It may be warm inland but it’s quite a bit cooler next to the ocean. Good chance you’ll see whales in the spring, seals in the ocean and plenty of birds and flowers in the April timeframe. Good easy walk. Plenty of benches to sit and take it all in.

More like a stroll with short, steep spots. On a Monday at 11am we had the place to ourselves. Stayed on wide trail/road and no problem with ticks in April. Cool with a breeze and warm sun.

Spring rains made for a mucky trek in places, but still a pretty easy, mostly flat trail to the ocean bluffs and back. Beautiful views and a ton of wildflowers of many varieties.

Beautiful. Breezy. The trail to the ocean is passable but have to navigate some washed out areas. Well worth the hike. We went in the end at 2.2 each way.

Beautiful hike with poppies and a gorgeous view of the ocean. It's pretty muddy right now because of all the recent rain.
