Beautiful trail with a lot of shade which made running in the heat on Saturday an enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend doing as an out and back or point-to-point though versus the loop. Main reason is last 4-5 miles runs along Marysville Road which is okay (although not nearly as enjoyable as running along the river) until trail dead ends and you’re literally on the road for about the last mile or so. Busy roadway with sections that don’t have much of a shoulder and not great view for drivers coming around corners. Also, about 5.5 in (starting from Vista point) trail dead ends into camp ground - to stay on trail veer right up paved road to boat ramp, go left through parking lot to stairs, follow stairs down and continue on trail to second boat ramp. Look for wheelchair access ramp by bathrooms. That’s where the trail picks back up. Took the help of a ranger to find it. Would do again as an out and back.
