I only did this as a loop and went through the golf course at the end. It ended up only being 5.7 miles. The first two miles were rough. Very steep and no shade (it was really hot and it’s only January) but a damn good workout. The rest of the trail was pretty much on a fire road at a steady decline so pretty easy. There are some patches of shade on that part and it gets breezy towards the top. Views of downtown were really pretty and the hike is really easy to get to!

Great workout. Steep up hill. Came down through slough canyon. Not so steep for my old knees. Worked great. Longer about 6.5. But a nice way to come home. Need to walk on the road a bit to get back to the car . But roads are not busy.

Park in the Stough Canyon Nature Center lot (it's free) and the address is 2300 E Walnut Ave, Burbank, CA 91504. The trail is fairly straightforward – follow the wide fire road. The hardest part whether you go clockwise or counterclockwise is the continuous uphill climb. Cool views of the city and you'll pass right by an old building (only the chimney and foundation remain). Dogs are allowed on leash.

Challenging trail with a few off shooting routes if you’re into that. There’s a chair at the top though so there’s that.

It’s a pretty nice trail with a bit of difficulty. Not too hard though. If you’re looking to get a good workout in and enjoy nice view this is the place! Also looking for hiking buddies. Add me on Snapchat at kingofheartz10

Great trail for a workout! Super close to la, easy access and parking. Super steep climbing the first 1.5 miles but the rest is nice and gradual/steady. Nothing spectacular in terms of nature but decent views and so close to the city.

Great endurance and distance training road. You’ll see some bikers and occasional runners. I wish these trails up here weren’t a single main trail that branches down to different locations. I enjoy loops more than in-n-out style. Oh, a few irresponsible and lazy dog owners ruin the beauty of the views as you have to constantly be on the lookout for dog crap.

Perfect time of year for this trail since it’s a fire road with no shade. Cloudy and cool. Hills are turning green. Amazing views of LA and the San Fernando Valley.

Great dog friendly trail; fire road is easy, would recommend taking the mountain trail on the way there and fire road on the way back.

Christmas Day hike. Fun but cold and windy.

Photos do not do this justice. You really need to hike this one. The elevation gain is awesome. The views were spectacular. But coming down from Tongva Peak snd Mount Thom ( doing the loop ) was a little boring as it is more of a fire road. So next time I’ll do straight up and back down.
