It's been almost 10 year but it was one of my old winter hiking areas halfway to the gf's house.

Great winter hike I've done many times. Hardly anyone there. My gf and I once followed a kit fox on the trail for a 1/2 mile while he constantly looked over his shoulder at us. Pretty funny...

Been a long time ago and forgotten.....almost

Great hike, look forward to going again.

Good hike, some pretty steep parts. Lots of poison oak but the trail is wide. Saw 2 deer, no cows on trail. Pretty windy, only ~70 F. No biting bugs, tons of dragonflies, a couple velvet ants.

best done in spring when the creeks are flowing freely

I love this trail! Would be a five star except it has a lot of people on it. Lots of trail runners that come right up on from behind you without any warning. Lots of fitness types on the trail. I expected it would be crowded because it is free to park and nearby Brentwood. Wouldn't mind the people so much, but there were some really loud talkers!

The trail is nice and wide in most spots. I saw lots of turkeys both Toms roosting, and hens with the babies. They should rename it to Turkey Hill as there are a lot of them here! Very beautiful scenery to soak up.

Take water with you - there is some shade, but not in a lot of places.. Hold your nose in the toilet. I like the trail and will be back in the winter when the hills are green again.

I went counterclockwise so the ascent was really that abrupt than the clockwise path. It was my first time but I'll do it again someday.

Nice hike with lots of intermittent shade for a reprieve from the sun. Lots of gradual up and down as opposed to straight up. Pretty views. Great hike for a beginner like me.

great for some easy mountain biking

Coolest and quietest place...just perfect

Beautiful views, definitely good to bring lots of water and trekking poles for the hike back up the mountain. Another good thing to know is that this trail is highly trafficked. Be prepared for people running at you when there is nowhere to go

Hike is a beast - disregard my recording (GPS wasnt working). Plenty of parking, Signs say trail damage but didn't see any. 70% trail is exposed - First 3.5 miles are great as you go down - Raven is tough going up but has some amazing views. A little buggy but not too bad

numerous changing of path ups n downs

It's a beautiful hiking trail. With beautiful views..

Nice rolling hills

It was a perfect place for my husband and I to take our dog and 10 month old for a walk

I love this trail. It's challenging enough but overall not too bad. I've hiked it alone and with friends and my kids. Great views of the surrounding preserve from the midway point at the top. If you do the trail reverse starting on Hardy Canyon it definitely makes it more challenging. Muddy after rain but you can still do it. Enjoy!

This is a great pedestrian path - great views of Mt. Diablo and the neighborhoods of Brentwood and Oakley. Plenty of runners, walkers and cyclists on the weekend. Great place to spot bird, turtle and fish wildlife along the creek, especially as you get closer to Oakley. Lots of parks and playgrounds along the way for kids and families.

Great hike. We started at the trailhead at Round Valley and went 5 miles to the lake and then returned 5 miles for a total of 10 miles. The trail is mostly flat with a hill at the beginning and about 3/4 mile before the lake. There is very little to no shade. The temperature was in the 50’s today with a slight breeze. Perfect for the hike today. Got to see lots of wildlife - wild turkeys and coyotes - as well as cows and several people riding horses.

Hiked this trail yesterday afternoon. Was very nice, only crossed path with one other person the entire hike. Will come back again.

Did this one a few times...

Great hike for cooler weather. Avoid going on hot summer days. Little shade and will be hot.

Love this trail. For the first 4 miles of the trail, it is well taken care of and has benches you can take a break on. The rest is a bit more rough but still a nice bike ride. I ride my road bike and well as my mountain bike on this trail. One issue for me is that I have to travel to it from my home in Antioch.

Not too crowded on Sunday. Very dry in October, half shade. Miwok trail is wide and pretty flat, the Hardy Canyon Trail is narrower and gets you up to the peak of the hill with good views, and around back to the beginning for a loop. Free. About 3 hours with young kids.

Beautiful scenery! I went around clockwise up the Hardy Canyon Trail and back down via the Miwok Trail and that is how I would do it again if I ever went back. I'm from SoCal but I was in Brentwood on business and decided to go on a hike before getting in the car and driving 6 hours home. The Miwok Loop was perfect.

I did this one at the end of June. From the trail head to the actual lake and back is 10.4 miles with some decent hill climbs spread through out. Going through The Round Valley part is pretty good. Once you get into Los Vaqueros the trail is big dirt fire road, not a hiking trail and the view can be "meh" sometimes and on hot days there is no shade on the trail at all. An enjoyable longer hike though.
