Hiked the first snow of the season- it was a lot of fun, recommend snow crampons or poles, as the snow is slippery on the steeps. The views were amazing of Big Bear Lake and bolder hopping was fun! I would love to go back in the spring and venture further to Bluff lake or maybe try snow camping. So many options! Dog friendly! Great vibe!

Great trail! Had to follow the map at some points to make sure we were in track, but it’s mostly marked. Beautiful views.

Very steep, rocky and harder then I thought it would be. Beautiful views from the top, only a handful a people for November.

Peaceful, quiet forest trail. Beautiful lighting in the morning.

Incredibly steep and difficult, even for this marathon runner. The views along the way were absolutely worth it at sunset, however. If you’re not feeling up to the challenge of climbing to the summit, stop after about a mile or so when you get a big open view of Big Bear Lake. Breathtaking.

Very fun trail! It was steep and we climbed up boulders to get to the top. I would definitely suggest this hike. I definitely need to get in better shape, but other than that it was beautiful views once you get to the top!

Wonderful loop hike. After Grand View Point I continued on Skyline Trail to Plantation, then Plantation Trail to 2N10 and back to Aspen Glen via various small trails. I thought the views improved beyond Grand View Point. That section of Skyline is the best ridge hiking. The trails are easy to follow and even though it was a holiday I saw almost nobody.

Beautiful, peaceful trail. Great views along the skyline. Beautiful, peaceful trail. Great views along the skyline.

Awesome trail with lovely views! Even amount of moderate inclines.

Pretty trail, though very rugged and crowded. Big Bear High was having a field trip and these screaming kids were a bit annoying, but the view of the lake from the top of Castle Rock was breathtaking. Definitely worth the rock climbing.

Trail starts out easy peasy and then quickly gets steep. The ridge is the highlight of the trail offering nice views of Big Bear Lake and Baldwin Lake, and pristine forest. Short but sweet. Nice for a quick and scenic workout if you’re in the area

This is not a hiking trail but a nice walk along a wide but lesser used dirt road. The “caves” are not spelunking caves at all, but what you see is charming enough. Not sure I can recommend this as a hike, but maybe if you’re interested in Winnie the Pooh haha

A nice quiet walk in the woods. Didn’t see another person on a Wednesday. Running spring water at the start of the trail. Recommend doing Plantation side first and proceeding in a counter clockwise manner for trail finding. Trick or Treat side seems much steeper. Lots of pine and manzanita. Recommend doing a couple spur trails to Skyline at the top for the views. Trail seems recently cleared, bushes trimmed. Nice hike.

Fun trail. Steep-ish section at first but gets easier after a couple minutes. Lots of rocks in the area to climb on and scramble up. Felt like a boulder playground. Fun to climb to the top rocks and great views up there. We brought sandwiches and ate them at the top and made for a great lunch. Hike back down was fast and downhill.

Nice, quiet little trail. Mostly straight up then straight back down with some nice views. Parts of the trail got rocky, which proved a slight issue for my senior dog. My measurements of the trail were actually different than what was listed. I was at 2.52 miles with an elevation of 627 feet.

We only went as far as the Castle Rock peak and then took an accidental creative way back down, but it was a fun, quick hike.

One of my favorites in Big Bear. Family and dog friendly.
