Nice drive for beginners. The trail gets pretty rocky towards the end.

We started at pct crossing at 2n71, straight up to the top. Training run for Whitney for the kids. Trail training for me.

I’ve easy trail and enjoyed the interpretive aspect.

Super easy stroll. We did it as a night hike with headlamps and flashlights. Added to the adventure.

Accidentally took this. Thinking it was s different way back from crystal mountain. Not too crazy about fire road hikes...but nice views at the top.

Easy hike. Beautiful views. We made the mistake of thinking the fire road at the end would take us back close to our car...ended up adding 2 miles to the hike. Liked the hike.

We took a wrong turn and turned it into an 8.2 miler...but still I think 6.8 is short. I think it’s more like 7.5.
Great hike. Very easy until the last mile which is a very steep uphill climb on a fire road. Beautiful view from the top.
For me, even though it’s longer, it seemed easier than the Gray’s Peak trail.

Great hike; nice and easy. Saw a few mountain bikers and joggers other than that it wasn't very crowded.

Great little loop trail.

A really nice, easy trail. Two turnouts at the start for airing down and disconnecting sway bars and what not if you need. First half of the trail was a really mild and well maintained dirt road. After the first gate you see a little bit of wash outs here and there, some uncovered rocks, but nothing crazy. A vehicle with decent ground clearance and good tires shouldn’t have an issue. We saw a Stock Jeep JK at the ranger station, an old Isuzu Trooper and a few full-size 4x4 trucks.
There are many off shoots to other trails that lead back to campsites and great views. It you hang a left to stay on 2N13B and stick with it you’ll be rewarded with an amazing view and the ranger station isn’t far off from there.
This isn’t a John Bull or Holcomb creek style trail, this is an easy, Sunday cruise with amazing views and a few fun spots in areas where water has trenched the trail and uncovered small boulders and rocks. Totally worth the trip for awesome views and easy cruising.

Nice hike most of the way until the end where it becomes a very steep fire road. When you get to the top it is a very pretty view but not much room as if it covered with radio towers. Not quite the peaceful peak we had imagined. But there are some small trees so we hung the hammock and made the best of it watching a beautiful sunset.

Nice trail. Started at Serrano camp ground. There is a tunnel under the road to the trail head. Nice view over valley after first couple miles. last turn to peak steep rocky access road. view from top worth the climb.

A few challenging obstacles, but mostly a moderate trail. My 4Runner with 3" lift and 33s took some hits to the sliders and skids tho so I don't recommend for stock 4x4s. Scenic views of big bear lake and you end up in Holcomb Valley, which is great for camping.

Started my hike first thing in the morning with my two dogs. The parking lot at the trailhead was empty, by the time I returned it was full (make sure you have your wilderness adventure pass). There are gradual elevation gains and switchbacks. Great views, especially at several benches along the trail (that's where you'll have the best photo opportunities). At the top end of the trail is the PCT or continue on to Bertha Peak.

Any hike that takes you near or past bluff lake is always a home run for me....bluff lake reserve used to be a YMCA camp I lived and worked there full time for two years and graduated high school at big bear high... great place then and now..plan a trip there you will not regret it...the movie parent trap was filmed there....both the original and the newer version in the 90s...

Great run up to the ranger station with lots of off shoots to try some more aggressive driving. Did this in a stock JLU Sport with no issues. 4wd only once just in case. As others have noted, this is a forest service road however a few places that were washed out. All in all a fun time.

As an FYI, the ranger mentioned that the station will be closed for the winter as of November 18th so if you at going to make a run up, will have to be before then.

what a view all the way up of the lake. definitly can't wait to do it again .

Great, wonderful day, wonderful hike.

Nice views but, boring. Nice chair lift ride.

A nice hike. Great location good for photos

Hiked in mid October. It was raining and cold but overall hike was great. We only made it to the creek before heading back up about 7 miles there and back. It's all uphill with no breaks on the way back. Saw lots of evidence of bears but didn't encounter any thank goodness. So be prepared for that. It's a beautiful hike over all.
