Great for families.

Great final descent section of what is becoming known as a mountain biking destination for NorCal. Just have to watch out for the hikers that are unaware this is predominantly used by mountain bikers.

Gorgeous trails with views of the river. This is a great hike for a hot day because there are so many places to take a quick dip and cool off.

Beautiful views, well-marked trails, good trail map available at the parking lot. I went early-ish to try to beat the heat and for the first four hours I didn’t see another living soul on the trails.
The parking reservation was easy; even reserving the night before I did not have any trouble with availability.
Highly recommend this hike!

Easy hike and absolutely stunning views. Spectacular trail since it is all the way by the river. Waterfall and rainbow are breathtaking. Will be back on Fall or Spring. In Summer I would say do early morning.

Jeremy and I hiked this trail and the views were spectacular! The Forest Hills Bridge is breathtaking and the river runs all along the trail making for great scenery. Clarke’s Pool was a bonus on the way back. Refreshing after being in the heat. Definitely returning for that! Nowhere did i see mentioned about the parking fee. Not a big deal but was unprepared to pay. Thank goodness they accepted Visa. Also, this app says dogs are not allowed on Clementine which is the lake behind the dam. “No dogs allowed” was also on the gate of the trailhead with dog poop bags right next to it. There were quite a few dogs on the trail and at the Pool. Not super clear about the furry ones being allowed or not. Great hike and swim!

I am not the most in shape, but I would still say this trail is more easy than moderate. Not so much to see, other than the river, which you walk above for a lot of the trail. The climbing area was beautiful; we ended our hike there

Awesome morning hike. Stopped to cool off in swimming hole just east of Foresthill Bridge. Dog that was on shore with some folks swimming decided to leave his mark on my backpack which was unfortunate. Lots of places to explore along the rocky shore. Definitely doing this hike/swim again. *** Note: CA State Parks charges $10 to park along the roadway/park area. Booth is sometimes open and accepts credit cards, but bring cash in case.

Wouldn’t hike this trail again. Not much shade. River is a long ways down. Not accessible except at the start. All up hill.

Beautiful today!!

Great hike for my wife, who is afraid that critters and snake are going to eat her, so she prefers a nice wide trail. Mostly in the shade if you go in the morning.

hiking and a beautiful rainbow and waterfall

good challenge as it offers many options depending on your interest.

I loved this hike, Hiked in to the waterfall felt pretty easy going and I did it 30 weeks pregnant, just made sure to bring lots of water and brought some snacks. You do have to maneuver down the the swimming hole part but it wasn’t too difficult and the water felt great!! Definitely will do this one again!!

Love the river next to the trail.

I think this is the hike that I went on recently based on the pictures people have posted. Was not expecting Clark's Hole but it was a pleasant surprise. There's a rock you can jump off of, just be careful because it's slippery. The swimming hole is really deep. Where we were wasn't much space but I think the "beach" stretches out a long the trail (we heard people talking when we were back on the trail walking towards the falls further away from where we had been). There's also fish in the water, so don't be surprised if a trout (?) wants to say hey when you have your feet in the water.

Great trail heads. Well maintained park. Restrooms all throughout the area.

This was a great hike. 1.5 mile walk from the parking lot to the waterfall. The hike to the falls overlook is easy, very low incline and easy trail head. When you get to the waterfall it is almost a climb to get down to the swimming area, so take that into consideration if you decide to bring your kids or if you have limitations.

I hiked the entire loop around the park and I tracked 8 miles on my Apple Watch. The trail around the park is a dirt road, perfect for mountain biking or horses. I suggest bringing extra water because after the falls there isn’t another spring until you reach the halfway point. The trail around the park is very easy, slight incline and trail thinning towards the end. It’s not too hard if you take is slow and make sure to take breaks in the shade. I will definitely come back and use this park for trail running in the future.

it's a pretty good trail but plain, a few places to see but as a workout is pretty good.

in fact it's a pretty easy hike, little but steady elevation no real effort needed, got a few spots you can check out while you follow the trail. pretty crowded.

This place was my very first hike and my wife and I loved it! I’m a beginner and this place had what I needed for a comfortable, worry-free hike (paper maps, maps along the trails and signs everywhere). Hidden Falls was also such a gorgeous place and we hit up Knee Deep Brewing Co (15min drive) afterwards! Will be going back real soon for sure!

Easy hike, watch out for mountain bikes.

Beautiful hike. It’s not a long hike so the end came quickly. Love that you can see the river the entire hike. However, lots of mountain bikers. I nearly jumped off the trail because of how fast they were coming. Just be careful not to jump off the trail and down the river. Lol. My sister-in-law and I took an extra mile and a half down Mammoth bar road till we reached Murderers Gulch. We went down to the river and found a small beach which was really nice. Water was around 47 degrees at the time we went. I would do this again definitely just with more precautions from mountain bikers.

fun, easy hike.

Be sure to make reservations for weekends and holidays online! Trails are well marked and maintained. Bring some Tecnu if you’re sensitive to poison oak because it’s everywhere. Bring lots of extra water when it’s hot or avoid the wider, less covered trails.

beautiful hike, falls can be amazing during certain times of the year.

Waterfall at the end of the trail makes it all worth it, trail runs along the river with great views, fairly easy trail well well worth the hike
