Beautiful trails and waterfalls, great for a family hike. My kids spent a few hours splashing around in the river. What a fun day!

Moderate easy and dod friendly. Runs along the American river so there are places to stop for the dogs or relaxation.

Ok trip..We parked on 49 and only hiked a mile before we ended at another parking area. Signs indicated we were at the point but could continue on to Auburn Rec Staging Area (another 1.3 miles). We opted to just turn around there. Minimal climbing on this hike. It was just ok. Wished it was longer. Per my calculations it doesn’t add up to the 5 miles I thought I read it was. Non the less it was an easy lazy Sunday afternoon stroll.

It's the beautiful place. Highly reccomend! Awesome place for family, horses riders, bicycles. There are a lot of trails there. So you can choose if it will be easy or not. There is waterfall what makes this place better. Reccomend

nice moderate hike even though it says no dogs the dogs were everywhere very slippery near falls from mist nice hike

Easy, mostly wooded trail running along creek with great view of waterfall from nicely built overlooking deck at far end of loop.

Decent hike. Not really worth the $10 parking fee. Most of the hike is in the shade. Lots of people

Nice trail, mostly up hill on the way in. Not many places to sit and enjoy the views, but overall it was good. Some mountain bikers, simple just keep a eye open! Have fun

It a pretty fun trail. I’m fairly new to hiking and am a pretty heavy gal so this was a great beginning trail for me. There were a few spots that were slightly challenging but overall it was a beautiful hike. I would recommend hiking down to the stream on the southwest side of the bridge and lookout point, there is a great spot to rest and chill by the creek.

Great hike, easy to moderate. Unfortunately the mine is now blocked off, however, there are many accommodations along the trails including porta potties and tables.

Nice 4h hike, decent views of the river

Beautiful views!

SEPTEMBER/2018: Awesome day to hit this trail. The weather was perfect and it wasn’t as crowded like the last time. It’s about one and a half hours out/in trip. The waterfall/dam was so beautiful and there were plenty of rainbows.

Beautiful morning hiking!!!! I thought we’d be closer to the river, but we still had great views. Would be a easy hike for kids

This was a pretty easy walk, mostly flat, great views of the river. Not sure if I'll do this one again just because there are a lot of mt bikers and heavy foot traffic. We typically like to hike where there's little foot traffic. We did go down a steep hill so the dogs could play in the river, which was beautiful and refreshing.

Great trail. For this out-of-shape old lady it was more than moderate but still doable

I went on a Monday (no reservations required on weekdays!) and there were still plenty of people on the trails. Only downside is the drinking fountains are no longer working. One of my friends planned to fill her water bottle up there only to find that out. Bring water with you!

Just another great day for hike at Auburn area. Crowded on parking cars and on the trail. Nice view's of spilling dam water at the end . like this trail as exercise and nice surrounding of forest atmosphere. Recomend to others.

It was great hike. Almost all hike is by the water!

Just a heads up "no dogs" sign at the trailhead, but you will usually see a few.

The round trail shown here is not wheelchair accessible. You could go back on the same route and just get to the bridge that over looks one of the falls

A little crowded for our tastes, both on the trail and parking. (But it was a holiday weekend.) It’s pretty dry and dusty this time of year, but most of the trail is in partial shade and the temps are moderating.

I suggest going early before the crowds & the heat. I took my senior mom my teenage daughter and our poodle, it is definitely a trail for the whole family.

The name of this trail is a bit of a misnomer. The trail ends at Lake Clementine dam, which is beautiful and worth seeing. Clark’s pool is actually located just past the tall bridge you pass under, about a mile from the trail head. We hiked to the dam and then stopped at the pool to swim on the way back. Great spot for kids, water was the perfect temperature on Labor Day! Bathrooms are located at the trail head and at the dam.

Great fitness trail, before noon is best to enjoy the shade. 10 dollar parking fee. The dam in the end is beautiful, as well as the canyon rocks.

on Hidden Falls Trail

Nice easy to moderate trail. There was a Mountain lion there today near the second falls so we didn’t go as far as planned. The first Falls was nice, light water, but some. A bit smoky but great trail.

Great hike. Beautiful river views, California’ tallest bridge, Clementine Dam with spectacular falls, occasional breeze of California Bay tree scent, innocent your deer, who could ask for anything more.

Been doing this trail in the early summer for years. When the water is still cool, it’s great to stop for a swim at Clark’s Pool (formerly an Auburn Municipal Pool in the early 1900’s.) Watch for snakes and poison oak.
