The left off of TV Tower Road, the ridge trail that runs literally straight up and along the ridge until you get to the Cerro Alto summit trail. Be careful on this trail.....very tricky, narrow and steep. Also, at times, pretty exposed on both sides of the trail at the rocky outcroppings on the top of the ridge. Other than that super views from there. Lush oak woodland down low, chaparral and ocean views up high; also came across a dense and expansive grove of eucalyptus near the quarry. Once to the summit of Cerro Alto, the return trip or second half of the loop is pretty mellow. Wide open trails and great scenery. The trek on the access road from the campground back to the front parking area was a nice cool down for the quads. (If you choose to run from the top down) walking was a little extended but there are options once you get to the campground to return back to the top on the Bridge trail if you want to continue the trail hiking.Show more

This trail, directly across the railroad tracks from the Jim Green Trail, wanders down in and around the Salinas riverbed. It is mostly all soft to medium packed sand and dirt. Offering plenty of switchbacks and mini-loops to accommodate any length desired. Good for horseback riding an dogs too.Show more
