Nice little getaway into the woods. I was surprised that there was so many trails back there.

Beautiful trail, several small stream crossings and lots of wildflowers this time of year. I like this trail better going clockwise. Start out on the well-marked Arcata Ridge trail going up and then you’ll join up with the Beith Creek Loop trail.

There are some mountain bikers that haul ass, but they super nice and try to let you know their coming and if more are

Lovely trail with some elevation gain, especially ‘cardiac hill’! So excited to find the most beautiful specimen of the Fetid Adder’s Tongue I’ve ever seen! Only drawback - not clearly marked & we had trouble finding our way out the first time. Spectacularly beautiful though!.

loved every pedal of this trail, single track even the wide fire road areas. little wet soggy in the climbing section going clockwise around the loop but worth anyone's time looking for a close ride to town!

Very nice trail, had a couple small waterfalls and streams that you have to cross. Decent elevation gain! Trail is very well maintained, and has some benches along the way.

Beautiful walk with lots of trails to explore

Very bottom and top loop are very beautiful single trail. Looking forward to seeing the flowers in the next month, definitely coming back to see them all in bloom. Creek is burbling, lots of birdsong, a little traffic noise down low. Nice hike so close to all this humanity.

If you are looking for a fast walk start at Hiller park in McKinleyville . The path is paved . From the park walk south and you will eventually walk over a bridge that crosses the river (3 miles round trip) . Was a nice walk for the time I had available . Some of the walk was through a neighborhood.

magical but not for the faint of heart. my toes got a little wet bc I didn't strategize how to cross a tiny minor creek. will have to choose between the right rocks to step on or leap across the whole expanse be careful don't slip! super fun! Beautiful mists and fog. don't dress too warm you will sweat

Great trail for hiking or running, I ran the trail and it has some good hills, but fun and beautiful. Definitely take your phone with the map, you can make a wrong turn very easy.

My fitbit clocked this loop at 5.78 miles so who knows. Was a beautiful hike and not very strenuous. Would return.

Great trail, but it’s a about a 0.7 mile walk on a road if the gun range gate isn’t open. It didn’t open Wednesday from 9-3 that we were there.

Great hike. Lots of up and down, but nothing too strenuous. Not crowded & dog friendly.

The first part of the loop is a steady uphill so I would say it’s a moderate trail. Well kept and there is a small stream the follows the trail for a while. A well shaded and wide trail with tons of ferns!

Beautiful little trail through a less traveled section of the Arcata Community Forest. A couple steep inclines will get your blood pumping.

It’s a stretch to call this a trail. Mostly paved, large section is an actual road, constant highway noise and views, horse poo throughout, and little shade. Beach access points are currently closed for snowy plovers. Best part is an overlook with views of seals in July. But it’s right in front of a parking lot...not the nature escape I was hoping for.

The rating is because there wasn't any parking or clear entrance anywhere near where the directions took us. We drove over there with 2 other families and the only parking was permit only because it's right in the middle of Humboldt State. From the road driving by it looked pretty but we couldn't find any parking so we never made it to the trail.

We walked the smaller loop. The trail seemed to be either uphill or downhill, very few plateaus. Not difficult but if you have knee issues I wouldn't suggest it. The main hike is wide and well kept. There are A LOT of offshoots which aren't marked so it's easy to get a bit off trail. My GPS was sketchy on this app so it wasn't always easy to figure out where we were. All that being said, it was absolutely beautiful, had a nice cool breeze and so peaceful and quiet. Just be prepared to wander a bit.

Enjoyed that this trail connected to the other marsh trails. Trail is pretty flat, no shade, lots of birds, and great for running. Easy to get to as well.
