Loved everything about it

I wanted to test out my new pack and poles. Nice day for a quick hike. I saw a young rattlesnake and a baby sunning themselves. A few raptors and a coyote in the distance. No cows, but plenty of evidence. Nice views, but think this trail would be prettier when everything is green.

This trail is pretty cool, tulles for miles. If your a bird watcher this is the place to go. Not much shade so bring a hat. Park in the Antioch Marina and walk in.

The trail is mowed and follows the boundary of the park. The ground is dry and cracked, so watch your step. Saw a couple of turkeys under a tree (not many around here). This is a good beginner trail, but nothing remarkable about it.

Gorgeous scenery, varied foliage and flowers, and some beautiful rock paths. Great plant scents and grand vistas...even cows! An enjoyable spring hike.

Beautiful view especially at the beginning couple of miles. Going up the rose hill for a panoramic view of the rolling hills.

Not well maintained. Hiking through tall weeds, uneven ground and not well defined.

Great trail to do especially in spring or winter... Too hot and dry in summer.

I wouldn't recommend any of the trails in this park for mountain biking.

This trail is basically just a ride along a fence in a cattle pasture.... If you even want to call it a trail. There was no cut trail. It was bumpy cattle tracks and uncut grass.

This is a beautiful wetland trail. We did not see otters on our trip but did encounter a seal. There is parking available at the Antioch Marina and a connector path to the Dow wetlands trails from there.

Back on bike after a long long time. I got to practice a lot of shifting!

Nice, easy stroll or good running location. I've taken my dog, she loves it! Lots of people and most people say hello. There's fishing here and some other water activities I haven't done. Parking is free off Frederick's Lane but is limited so something like 30-40 cars so come early. It's a great local place to get outdoors and enjoy!

Day one backpacking. Great place!

This was a nice hike and if I lived in the area I'd do it often, but it wasn't worth the 45-minute drive. There were tons of very cute cows blocking our trail and the recent rains combined with the cow hoofprints made it a muddy and uneven (but fun) experience. This is definitely a hike to do in winter and early spring as there is no shade and Antioch gets pretty hot in the summer/fall.

Great views!

Very scenic, you will not be disappointed! I love that I can bring my dog with me up there. I would bring a lunch and sit by the edge to enjoy the view for a few minutes before my trek back down. Bring good hiking shoes for grips....the path vary from smooth to rocky and uneven.

This is a great little haven to explore. It's easy to walk and connects to the marina with a beautiful bridged path. We love taking our daughter there to see the river otters and beavers.

Pretty good hike. Lots of views. Antioch looks like a decent town from up there.

Not so much a trail as a closed, paved road, which suited me fine. Perfect for a relatively straightforward run. Went out on a Sunday just after 9:00 and it was pretty desolate out there. Since you are in the middle of nowhere with no one around, bring a friend or other self defense equipment if that might unnerve you. Otherwise it’s pretty scenic and relatively easy. Can access from either end, with the only significant hill at the Mesa Ridge entry area. Would definitely do it again to run. Would not consider it for walking/hiking unless you want something easy and to take pics.

So beautiful!!!!!

There is a kiosk at the entrance to the park which will collect $5/car to enter the park if the kiosk is staffed. When I went on a Saturday in January at 10:30 a.m. though, there was no one at the kiosk so we did not have to pay the entrance free. I would recommend that you expect to pay $5/car in case the kiosk is open when you come though.

Note: The trailhead is not the first parking lot that you see after the kiosk. Drive father down the road into the park to find the trailhead parking lot.

This trail will feel moderate for moderately experienced hikers and will feel difficult for inexperienced hikers or folks who are out of shape. This park reminds me of Briones Regional Park with rolling hills, city views, and lots of cows grazing in the park. Except I saw about twice as many cows here as I did in Briones Regional Park.

Definitely watch your feet for cow feces because it’s pretty much everywhere. I also couldn’t really find a good place to break for lunch midway through the hike, so settled for a scratchy patch of grass in semi-shade in between piles of cow feces.

There is a steep ascent on part of this trail that will freak out inexperienced hikers and make them rethink coming. If you bring a group of people with a mix of hiking experience, this is where you will see the most difference in people’s fitness levels and most likely people will not be able to hike at the same pace as at flatter parts of the trail.

This hike is ideal to do during cold and cloudy weather since there is full sun exposure pretty much the entire trail. Make sure you bring sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses even when going during winter. Also bring plenty of water since the sun will wear you out.

I’m glad I experienced this park, but don’t see myself coming back soon.

Great hike, very pretty, everything was very green. The kids thought they were dying (19,16,11,9) but had a great time.

I love this trail, and all the trails here at Black Diamond. awesome views, easily attained. my dog loves it too!

Spent most of the time looking down to avoid cow pies and holes. Saw lots of cows, ground squirrels, a jack rabbit, hawk and an egret. Not a very scenic hike.

beautiful trails out there, kids liked all the different mines and sights. lower trails are fairly muddy after the rain, but once you get up the hill a bit it is rockier and less muddy.

Some steep parts but nothing to bad. Good trail for the pups and the cemetery is neat!
