Easy, mostly flat, a little narrow and overgrown and rocky about a mile in. Nice views.

Beautiful, peaceful trail with a scenic, shady waterfront view at the end! Main advisories: long periods of sun exposure with intermittent shade, some narrow nearly overgrown areas with bees, and a creek you can only cross on a rickety wood plank. Went at noon on an 80° weekday; there weren’t many people, though sometimes not much space to social distance when others weren’t wearing masks. We had no problem parking near the trail entrance.

This trail is great for getting some miles and sunshine in. Path is maintained well, easy parking, and ok restrooms.

+ Malibu lake. Be careful on the road. Beautiful but lots of reckless drivers

Nice flat walking trail. The last portion after crossing the paved road is a little too dusty and horse poopy, next time I think I’ll just walk along the pavement at the end.

A good moderate hike. It is closed though, so if you do it, you will be going on a pathway that is “not a trail”

Nice trail around the housing subdivisions in the area.

Beautiful trail, with views and little lake, but barely has enough shade so I highly recommend doing it in early morning or late afternoon.

I think I went the hard way. Views from the ridge line were great. Some spots were overgrown. A lot of horse crap but that’s what you get when you share a trail with horses. I wouldn’t do this on a hot day.

Great, flat hike! Parking was not obvious (we parked on a residential street) and there was one pretty significant patch of bees right on the trail, but otherwise a lovely, easy hike. Great for families with kids. Beautiful wildflowers and lots of butterflies and lizards.

As with most trails in the area, there were quite a few people (mostly young males) that neither wore masks nor were willing to move out of the middle of the trail. So a combination of people generally inexperienced on trail etiquette and current covid etiquette. The hike itself is beginning to get dry and areas going up are crowded with thistle. Ok overall, but not worth a long drive for.

A nice easy trail. However there is a lot of foxtail, so be very careful bringing a dog along.

Absolutely amazing hike. Gorgeous views. Uphill pretty steep the first part but after that just walking along the ridge of a mountain. Go early in the morning and see the sun rise! Breath taking!

Very much recommend going early in the morning. A beautiful trail, especially when watching the sunrise over the hills. If you want to see the old mansion, there isn’t a trail marker for it but once you see a bigger path heading down you will see it. It’s all burnt up, but still a site to see with the tub and old trough still visible. A great morning stroll.

We parked on the street in the residential area on Crags Rd (state park parking lots closed). Modified this hike- started east down Crags Rd, then turned right/southwest up Bulldog Motorway, then another right turn on Lookout, then back down to the car for a nice loop hike of about 2.5+ miles. Bulldog Motorway was really beautiful, with some tree covering and a small creek crossing near the start, then quite some elevation gain coming up out of the canyon and up onto Lookout. Overall, really scenic with nice views and great wildflowers. Not too difficult. All of it is two-track, so plenty of space to distance, but honestly on a Saturday at 2pm we only passed about 4 other hikers.
