Nice visitors center, with a couple of good trails in the area. Can be crowded with campers in the summer!

I wanted to mention that dogs are not allowed on leashes for any of the Tyler Bend Trails. I learned the hard way. They are allowed on the gravel bars by the river. Other than that it was a nice hike with pretty views.

Very nice little hike and you can go in the houses and explore. Many great photo opportunities on the homestead and on the trail overlooks. Buffalo River is just beautiful with its turquoise hues.

If you're looking for info on the second section of the rugged Buffalo River Trail system -- you check in at the Tyler Bend Visitor Center first, then drive west -- see my review of the great but challenging 14-mile ridgeline hike from Woolum Campground to U.S. 65, here: http://alltrails.com/trail/us/arkansas/buffalo-river-trail?ref=search

Friendly staff, clean facilities , host on duty at all times was terrific as me and my granddaughter camped alone and we were a little scared at first. The hiking trails were very nice and shady for hot August Hikes! Will definitely return here for more exploration!

Great trail for August! Granddaughters first trip to buffalo. Visitor Center Staff went above and beyond to be informative and helpful especially to my granddaughter. The trail is well cared for and has lots of interesting spots. Loved the homestead!

Tyler Bend has a series of four hikes that can be combined to create a couple of loop trails. I did all four. They take you through wooded hillsides, historic rock walls, pioneer cabins/homesteads, bluff overlooking Buffalo River and more. A small visitor center is located at the site. Full service campsites and river access. Great destination for a number of reasons.

Riverview section has some steep spots but great views. The trails intersect and cross but are well marked. Trails are pretty rocky so watch your step. Do not miss the Collier Homestead. Camping area is great!

A fairly easy trail with no steep inclines. There are several trails within the trail system at the Buffalo River National Park (Tyler Bend) that intersect, so once you get started you can change trails at intersections to extend or reduce your distance as needed. Several spots on the trail are exposed to cliffs so those hiking with children would need to be careful.
