Shaded trail, has some bluffs to check out and a wild raspberry Bush right next to the trail.

Great trail for some flat and small hills running

Decent hike. Steep on left at first and more level if you go right. No big landmarks, but some cool caves and things to explore if you want to take your time. Saw some snakes too so keep your eyes out

I took four of my kids on this trail. I loved how secluded it was once we got to the actual trail. It was a little difficult for my youngest who is five year old, but she made it fine holding my hand. There are several hilly parts with loose rocks, so be careful and don’t slip! I will definitely come back to this trail!

Don't agree with the moderate rating. This trail is very easy and the better of the two in this particular area of Hobbs SP. Wide, well maintained, and mostly shady. The viewing area at the northwest end of the trail is a plus as well.

Nice easy trail. A little vegetation staring to close in the trail some, but overall well kept and mostly shady.

One of my favorite relaxing trails. The walk through the woods was quiet and the smell of the pines relaxing. Fairly easy hike overall. The arm down to the lake is a little steep with some loose gravel. It’s worth it for sure for a mid-trail snack with a view.

Pretty short. really cool creek and an amazing cave.

I might have come into this with high expectations, but I did not enjoy this trail as much as others. To start, it was overgrown. You have vegetation touching you for a good 3 mile stretch. As a result, I was constantly pulling off ticks and chiggers (even with bug spray). But the creek view was relaxing. Would I hike to it again? No. And the view for the valley itself was grown up. (Would probably be pretty in the winter).

Really nice hour and a half hike. Definitely recommend it for beginners or anyone wanting to enjoy a beautiful and relaxing scenery.

Fun and easy trail. Nice bluffs, some secret waterfalls, nice lake view midway, good uphill hikeout.

Very nice paved trail and the lake is beautiful. Lots of people out everyone seem to be social distancing. People were on kayaks and on large lake mats hanging out in the lake

Great trail. Lake is beautiful

great trail for an amazing workout, we did this trail with a 1 and 3 year old kids along with 2 small dogs. the overlook is amazing and makes it worth the hike. we actually started from the visitors center and used the connecting trails so it put it closer to a 10 mile hike. cons is the trail is a bit overgrown in places but is still well marked. be sure to have bug spray as miquetos are a bit active in some places and like any trail in the woods ticks and chiggers are out.

Great dirt trail. It was very busy in the park and paved trail , but not so much on the dirt one. :) Bathrooms are still closed.

Good shade. Slight climbs involved. Stream and lake available to see.

Very busy but enjoyable. No open toilets anywhere so be prepared.

I took a first time hiker on this trail and it did not disappoint. It was so beautiful and peaceful. There were inclines and declines throughout but nothing too bad. We shortened the route a little due to time. I found a tick crawling on me but otherwise the bugs weren’t bad. Highly recommend

Some sections are very rocky - loose rock

This was a great hike out in the woods, not too difficult at all and very pretty scenery.

Well, my 13-yo and 10-yo boys loved this trail. My daughter (11) and I continue to be surprised at trails rated easy like this one as we are namely paved trail riders and find ourselves a little bit out of our comfort zone on these unpaved trails. Okay maybe a lot out! I’ve coined a new term: bike hike. My daughter bike hiked this trail, and after my bike got stuck between gears and wouldn’t pedal, I hiked my bike quite a lot also! 3/4 of us would go back. Trail appeared well-maintained; it’s pretty much entirely out of the sun; no steep ledges or drop offs that I recall, but plenty of “thrill” or challenge, especially for riders like me. We (3/4) felt alive after riding!
