Pelsor, Arkansas Map

This is an amazing trail. Rated as moderate but the last 1.5 miles from Sandstone Castle where we made camp in the caves, to the falls I would rate as hard. The ascent to the falls is steep and very rocky so watch your footing and be prepared to climb back out. Great trail though and we had no issues staying on it.

Just gorgeous!!!!!!!

Richland creek is a premiere area in Arkansas. This is one of the best in the state.

Loved seeing the Falls and Sandstone Castle, which is why I chose this trail. Would urge caution, as the trail is poorly marked and barely visible at times. I would consider this trail Hard rather than Moderate. When lost, the map is fairly accurate, so with the aid of a compass you will hopefully be able to find the trail (but I had my doubts at times). Also, suggest arm and leg covering attire as the trail is overgrown in many spots.

Love Richland creek, falling water and all the other falls along this beautiful creek

Worth the drive from NLR, AR. Absolutely beautiful. After any rain its freezing.

Just a spot on the OHT, with a nice creek.

Took just a short trip down the road to the first falls. Saw a couple young guys jumping off into the water. Pretty chilly since it was March 3rd. Very nice drive. Will be better in a couple weeks when the dogwoods start to blossom.

Hmmmm..... this is not really a hike- just a spot in the Ozark Highlands Trail. The 1.6...I’m not sure what that is referring to. And I wouldn’t categorize it as “easy” bc either way you go is descending down about 500 ft and it’s a bit of a hike back up to the old campground. It’s just a walk in the woods and some good exercise back up.

Pretty place and I'm sure it's even better in the summer when you can take a dip in the pool.

very beautiful drive, lots of falls that can be seen from the road, or just a short hike off the road. gorgeous area, will definitely go back, if your in a car I would suggest stopping and going back once you hit the campground, drove way down that rock/dirt road and had to turn around because there was literally a river to drive through!

An absolutely beautiful waterfall that anyone can see! It's one of our favorite Summer swimming holes and always worth the 3 hour drive we make to visit a few times a year. We recently made a Winter visit and it was just as gorgeous!

You can confirm with the NF at the ph. number provided. NF official website still shows the campground open. It is a simple campground central to a lot of hiking in the area. Can be used as a base camp.

Fairview is a typical primitive NF campground. Has a great view, but to close to hwy.

Excellent location to stage from as you engage in day outdoor activities in the area. Many nice hikes in just a few miles
