This place is incredible! You’ll get wet, but worth it if you get to see the Falls in all their glory!

enjoyed the 60 degree Jan weather. lots of rain days before so all creek crossings were shin deep. water fall was spectacular as was the pools in the creek. haven't been in drier time but would assume you will always get wet feet at some time. there are other trails that branch off the main line that aren't shown on the map. definitely a great hike

Was a beautiful place to drive

Really enjoyed this trip - hard to decide how to rate on difficulty though - easy roads most of it, but there are the creeks (I fell 3 times!) and it was really slippery getting to Big Creek Cave Falls...all of us there at the time (4) slipped down the hill a little. It's worth getting close, but be extra careful.

Awesome, so beautiful. Awesome on a 4 wheeler.

Great route for autumn foliage lovers. Also great to take advantage of when it’s raining or you’re too sore to hike from all the activities in the area. Sometimes when the weather isn’t conducive to hiking, I come from hours away just to enjoy the scenic drive.

love it

Good trails for razors and 5 wheelers

My friend and I went to Bayou Bluff Recreation Area to hike the trail. It is part of the Ozark National Park. I know the area better now. If you have a cellphone, it gets no service there. Between certain times of the year, you pay to use the recreation area. The question is, who do you pay. My phone’s GPS still worked. We did not know where the trail began. We guessed wrong. It begins a little bit to the north on AR-27 on the other-side. Parking might exist there.

Awesome trail and beautiful falls. Be prepared to get wet or hop across rocks to cross the creek. The trail itself was not super difficult, but hopping rocks was fairly complicated and time consuming. We crossed 5 going out there. Also check out the directions for accessing the trail on AllTrails. It starts at a metal gate that looks like private property. I would have missed the 2nd falls if I had not followed the trail map too.

Hard. Did it with a 25lb pack, don’t do that.

One of the best hikes I've been on in a while! There are a couple care packages we left out there! If you find them let me know!

Creek, fields, cave, waterfalls, rocks, this trail has it all!

Abundant trails that can be challenging for a novice but skilled riders have no problems. Absolute blast to ride and beautiful views!! Not quite Colorado but also not quite 16 hour drive either! Lots of UTV owners whose skill is only that they bought a caged offroad vehicle but don’t really know what they r doing. Be aware!!!

LOVED this trail. It was gorgeous! The previous hikers that posted they marked the trail to one of the falls - thank you it was helpful- once u go back to the main trail it will take you to the cave, although you can't go in as there are endangered and federally protected bats living here- it was still beautiful to see and snap a few pictures from the outside.

we only drove from Jasper to Harrison but it was very pretty, seeing Dog patch along the way was pretty neat, would love to drive the rest someday

This is an adventure! We have done this hike twice now, and find it to be a great outing when looking to avoid the usual weekend crowds. Enough people visit these waterfalls that the unmaintained trails here remain visible. Though we did add some survey tape in key points on this trip. For the most part, you're hiking on an old road bed - it's easy hiking through a lovely forest along a gorgeous creek.

The one "choose your own adventure" portion of the hike is crossing the first wide, open field. Head straight through, and then to the right until you see the road again. It seems like people take ATVs/ORVs back here somewhat frequently. On both visits, we've been able to follow vehicle tracks at least part of the way.

The waterfalls and caves are spectacular, and the waterfalls seem to run year-round. Big Creek Cave Falls is the "wow" falls, but Wolf Creek Cave Falls may be the prettier of the two. Big Creek Cave is explorable for the truly intrepid, but even the more timid can wander a little and explore.

Several of AR's most popular hikes are in this area (Lost Valley, Hawksbill Crag, etc.), so this could be an excellent addition to a weekend of exploring the Buffalo River area.

Wolfpen has not added more trails as the previous review stated. They have steadily been removing trails from the system. That's why a low star rating. Plus the trails are now closed Nov. through February. The trails system is also primarily for ATV riding. Huge tourism draw for the area which led to all the cabins near the trail. Favorite trails are 3,8, and 6. Improvements being made are making for a less primitive trail system and more like roads.

We always have a good time when we come here. Many trails to ride and right across the highway there is a area called Macks Pines. The owners have much more acreage to ride, along with a diner and cabin/ camping area. Trails are well maintained. Only downfall has been we can't seem to find a good map of this place. Next time we go back I will upload a GPS tracking of the trails we ride.

We're riding dirt bike the trails are average as rated but the area is open to side by sides and they were everywhere a large number riding around drinking and very inconsiderate about the kids that were riding slower than they wanted to wait for. We ran into groups of sxs as large as 18 vehicles our group has decided not to go back again we normally go here at least once a year

Awesome trail
This map is pointless though. Don't count on it for crap well maybe wiping

I always love mill creek. The leaf fall made it a little slick so make sure you have good tires.

I did this about 5 years ago. Some day I want to take Doug's advice and play along this route. Especially the hiking opportunities. I did a lot of hiking in this country about 40 years ago, but I don't even remember the trails now. I just remember beautiful forests and streams.

I ride atvs here...this place has so many trails its crazy! Be sure to remember how to get back due to the many branching trails. A compass is nice here. Atvs, horseback, bikes only. You can hike but would be a very long hike to scenic areas and the atvs may be a nuisance. There is a waterfall here but is a good long ride to it. Lots of valleys, creeks and woods! There are many very steep hills on these trails. Some even hard for atvs to get up.

Nice drive.

Wonderful trail system for ATV's, Dirt Bikes and Horseback riding. Places to camp, hunting allowed so be aware of seasons when riding. Plenty of places to hike as well. I moved the trail head for driving directions to the right place so you can find it by GPS now however phone service is limited and can be an issue.

The 84 mile drive is gorgeous by itself; highly recommend in the fall in late October to see the fall color. Within that 84 mile drive is literally weeks of recreational opportunity. Camping, hiking, fishing, backpacking, water sports at Lake dardenale by russelville, caving, and so much more. great area.
