It's a nice enough trail, with plenty of great views of the lake, but it also basically runs through several backyards (or at least close enough to the houses that you feel like you're in their backyard) and a few of them make it apparent that your presence isn't necessarily appreciated. Though, that was just my takeaway, so your mileage may vary on how worthwhile the trail is.

The trail definitely has some great views of the lake. Unfortunately, it also runs through what appears to be someone's cow pasture. Which is something that very much detracts away from the overall experience. Especially when there happen to be a whole flock of cows right up on the trail.

Short but sweet. Pretty much in my backyard. Glad people have been working on the trails recently.

Went in January. it was a easy trail. nice bench to rest with a beautiful view of the lake

Be mindful of the landslide that occurred in the counter-clockwise direction (mile 15 and 14) as of January 7th, 2019. But other than that, the trail was clearly marked and offered beautiful scenery. I like to recommend this trail to people that are just getting into backpacking, but even if you aren’t a beginner, you will love this small section of the Ozarks that Northwest Arkansas has to offer.

Rocky, barely used/marked deer path. Not worth the drive.

Wonderful First Day hike! Or anytime of year!

Very simple walk through timber, the trail is under maintained.

Simple hike but liked the historic aspect.

Simple walk through the woods.

Scenic, quiet trail

Nice short loop with about the same scenery as the full pigeon loop.

nice trail, Eagle Scout project bridge over first large stream was very helpful, but many dog owners (5 or 6) let their big dogs run loose, which scratched up our granddaughters with muddy paws.

Simple walk, not much to see.

Found it to be a great trail very well laid out. I iked it, but if I was mountain biking It would of been a great to learn on but also fun if experienced.

Coming from two 23 year old, able bodied but slightly out of shape dudes, each carrying 40lb packs, this loop is definitely hard. If you do the full loop I recommend starting at the lake and going up the west side. It’s much prettier in terms of water features and is shorter in distance, still very steep. The east side (going down after camping on the mountain) is still very pretty but you barely see the river that is on that side. Lots of up and down expanses high up on the east side. It took us almost 5 hours to get up the mountain from the west side (stopping every 20-30 min with one break longer 15 min break for lunch, abt 12-15 stops). It took us only less than 4 hours the next morning to go down the longer east side (about 10 stops). If u want to just go for a day I would take two cars and park one at the lake and then start at the top of the mountain and go down the west side. 8/10 for views and overall experience, 2/10 for easiness. Wouldn’t go back unless for the day hike I mentioned.

Great place to hike. Very easy to stay on the trail. Went in January and with little to know leaves in the trees, you could see the water the whole way up. So beautiful.

Great little hike around the lake! As someone else mentioned, the name of the trail is actually Beacham Trail. It was pretty wet and muddy due to recent rain, but still nice. The only sketchy part was the last 0.3 miles where you cross back over the river...it looks like the walking bridge or crossing was washed away at some point, so we got a little wetter than we planned with the high water from the rain. Would definitely do again!

Nice trail. Took my twelve year old. It was a challenge for him, glad I didn’t take my 6 year old. I wouldn’t mind doing it again sometime.

A great trail! If you start on white rock mountain, the hike back to your car Is pretty tough. Overall, the views and scenery were great. We went early January and got great weather. Tons of water flowing throughout the mountain and multiple waterfalls. Highly recommend.

I had done this hike in July and it was not a good experience. Each of us got about 20 ticks, hardly any water sources, and overgrown. Wouldn’t recommend then, but highly recommend late fall and even in the winter if you don’t mind camping in the cold.

Fabulous day breathing fresh air and hiking with the family. A little wet and muddy but worth it!

This trail is not very long, but it is a good workout. There are some good views of the lake too.

Nice fun trail with some beautiful views of the lake.

Great trail. Plenty to see. Restrooms at around the half-way point are a plus. Nicely maintained. We hike a lot. Don’t pass this one by.

Definitely not a hard trail. Gorgeous around the lake with lots of benches and views. Easy for kids too.

I love this trail! Beautiful lake spot for great meditating. It is closed today (1/5) due to current hunting season. Anyone know when it opens again?
