This is not a very difficult trail. It offers some great views of Lake Ouachita. The trail is fairly well maintained and following the trails are easy enough. It is a popular mountain biking system so hikers beware. The trail itself is a five loop system that offers views of the lake and forest.Show more

The Friendship Trail is a nice, short, paved loop trail that starts at the Jessieville Visitor Information Center (U.S. Forest Service) with the turn around at a nice pond and pavilion. The map locator shows the location basically at Jessieville school, however you must continue north on Highway 7 for another half mile and the Visitor Center and Parking Lot will be on your left. The trail has been evaluated as ADA compliant and designed with input from a local non-profit, Spa Area Independent Living, located in Hot Springs. Accessibility: The trail surface is paved asphalt and typically at least four feet wide. The estimated grade is mostly gentle, all 5% or less except for a couple of steep 8% sections on the west side at 0.4 and 0.5 miles when going counterclockwise.Show more

Blocker Creek Cascade is located in the Ouchita National Forest near Jessieville, AR. The parking location is searchable through google, and google maps will take you to it without a problem. Once you leave HWY 7 however, it is forestry road for many miles. Brushy Mountain Rd, and then Blue Mountain Road are definitely rough in places. Most 2WD vehicles could do this if it's not too muddy at the time, and also have decent enough clearance. The trail head for this hike begins at the intersection of Blue Mountain Road and the Ouchita Trail. Most of this hike is an easy half mile or so along this section of the Ouchita Trail, which looks to be an old jeep or forestry road. It is a bushwhack to the creek to see the falls though. This trail is rated moderate from where you bushwhack the trail to the falls (and back). That part can be a steep climb and over a combination of loose rocks, thickets and muddy areas if you are hiking after recent rain. Show more
