A fun hike. Well marked and easy to follow. We started to the left (clockwise) and went up rocky switch backs first. Not as scenic as other hikes in the area but still a good hike with fun terrain.

It was a great hike. I recommend getting the steep part out of the way first. It's wet and muddy with all the rain recently, but it's a really nice hike.

I gave this trail a 4 star because the first 1.8 miles of it go along the Hwy so not very peaceful but the hike up to the top was great, not hard but a nice exercise. My dog loved it, there were some streams to stop for water so that was nice with my dog. Very rocky decent and I wished I had of worn my hiking boots instead of my running shoes. All in all a beautiful hike.

A little slippery with many rocks in the path. Pretty well maintained though. Moderate for the App was difficult for us as novice hikers. Took 60 minutes to ascend to the Vista, and 40 minutes to descend. Went left to the Vista from the Iron Springs parking area. 0.8 miles to Vista.

This was our first trip on the Ouachita Trail. We spent quite a bit of time figuring out which Sections we would do. We chose Section 7 (Hwy 298 to Hwy 7) expecting a fun and challenging backpacking trip, and we got exactly that. Being from Texas, a lot of our hiking and backpacking is on much milder terrain than this. We came here for the lovely hills and mountains of Arkansas and we got it!

Great family outing for family of 6 with infant in stroller:)

The best thing was the wide color range of mushrooms. Trail has too many spider webs. Will not walk again.

The only great thing about this trail are the beautiful mushrooms but don’t look down too long or you’ll be slapped in the face by one of the million spider webs across trail. Took forever with the kids because of the slippery rocks and spiders. Checked it off the list and won’t be back, my grandson said ZERO STARS LOL found ticks on us after the hike so make sure you do a body search after

This was a great trail! A little steep at points, but the view at the top was worth it! It has been a great honeymoon for my wife and me.

Pave walk, great for ADA accessibility. Not many of those. Just a brief walk to stretch legs.

I hiked clockwise. First 1/2 mile very steep, after that pretty mild. A couple of views, other wise simple hike.

This trail is great for any ages, especially older folks in the local HSV area. Everything is paved. Plenty of Parking at the trailhead. Great Fish Pond at the end. Has a canopy, grill and tables to have lunch. Ran it quickly. Walk would probably take 15-20. Be sure to hang at the pond for at least as long as you spend hiking!

Had a great hike this morning. It's slightly longer than advertised. It was a hot in the summer time, leave early and be done by 10:00am during the summer. Spiders and webs along trail during the summer. What a great easy day trip from Hot Springs! Make sure to stop by the Visitor's Center at the National Forest Center along Hwy 7.

Great hike. Tougher than I expected. We wished we’d brought more water. The view on the top of the mountain is breathtaking. My son and I are exploring the area as we prepare for our first backpacking adventure.

Easy hike. I took my 9 year old and 7 year old, each carried a 20 pound pack each, they had no problems. We went in late November. Trail was very well marked with white rectangles painted on trees. The trail had a very "slippery" spots with all the leaves that had fallen off trees. No bugs, other than LOTS of spiders.

Beautiful hike in the woods that is well worth the sweat! Trail is well kept and marked clearly. Ground cover is mostly poison ivy, stay on the path. Lots of super small ticks, spray spray spray!

Great Hike. Encountered around 400 lb. Black bear about mile 3. Beginners be aware of your surroundings.

Lots of switchbacks as we took the trail starting on the left side to ascend quickly up to the lookout. Glad I had a hiking stick with me. Lots of poison ivy.

Great hike, well marked trail. At the beginning we went up to vista first, steep hike up and am glad did this first. Was a cloudy day and view was limited. Hunting season and later found out is recommended to wear orange hat for safety.

Close to home so have hiked many times. Very well marked and always a great hike.

This is basically just a short sidewalk in the woods. Not much going on along the trail. If you follow a faint dirt path behind the pavilion at the top, though, it will lead you to a whole network of access roads. There is some fun to be had on those. It is all double track, but it actually makes for some fun MTBing. Lots of speed!

This is a trail that is very close to home for me, so I've been on it countless times. This is a good loop for how close to home it is, but if you're coming from far away, there are better trails. There is really only one scenic point on the loop. Going clockwise, the section after the vista is nice. There aren't any amazing views, but you get a nice, easy hike across the mountain to the OT intersection.

Depending on which way you go will determine how difficult this trail is. If you are looking for more easier hike, I wouldn't recommend going counter-clockwise. Going clockwise will take you up the steep side of the mountain, which is a strenuous workout.
