We didn’t get to see the fall which was disappointing but the trail it self was beautiful! We hike a lot and this trail was shorter than most but I would say it’s pretty moderate not easy. My dog loved the lake at the end!

fun trail, not alot of work. swam at the base of the fall.

Gorgeous trail and nicely shaded. Perfect for an easy outing. Probably my favorite trail of the weekend for its simplicity and beauty.

Kid friendly, great swimming place shallow rock in lake right below falls.
In summer, waterfall is not flowing, but still a nice hike with plenty to see.

A nice morning hike after biking too the trailhead through town.

Difficult trail, tons of steep climbing and switchbacks. No really pretty scenic views, but the trail itself is pretty.

For our first hike at a national park we did well. It was nice to be on West Mountain and in nature. A good workout after all of the food we ate in Hot Springs! Just a little over 2 miles and one hour.

Short trail from the mountain down to the gorge. Nice little hike. There is some runoff damage on the trail and it’s a little slippery due to the small rocky gravel on the trail.

hiked this trail along with mountain top, whittington, oak, and canyon, very nice trail, some ups and downs but the easiest walk of the set I did today, clean well used, pretty scenery

I hiked this trail along with mountain top, west mountain, oak, and canyon in one day, all was challenging and each trail had its on unique things about it, this trail was very easy, flat, and clean, a lot of walkers, joggers and dog walkers, just a nice urban park trail

Eh, just ok. Hiked it because we were waiting for the hot springs to open and had some time to kill. Not a difficult hike and not much to see. The tower at the top lets you know you are ready to turn around.

Great easy to follow trail with a pretty look out point- great to add onto many other trails.

Beware of ticks!!!!!!! With a 40% Deet liberally applied, I removed 17 after this trail. Trail was clearly marked and lots of deer.

Clearly marked and well kept trail. In a bit of a dry spell so the creek is very low, hardly any water flow on the hike to the falls. Barely-there waterfall but otherwise the scenery is beautiful! Just needs a good rain shower to get things flowing again.

Trail itself was great. But i was really hoping for a full waterfall, maybe in the spring.

I give it a 4 star for the area. It lacks super scenic views, but is still a very pretty hike with a variety of landscapes to see. It does have some pretty good climbs and this can be a challenge for those not in hiking shape, both from the distance and a handful of the climbs.

Be careful of ticks, both my dog and I picked up quite a few, likely due to some of the grassy areas you walk through.

I stopped here passing through on my way back to Colorado and thoroughly enjoyed the hike overall!

It is mostly well-marked, but I used this AllTrails recording because there are a few spots where it isn't very clear where you are supposed to go without it, and it isn't all "technically" the Sunset Trail. That ends somewhere around West Mountain Drive and then you pick up other trails from there back to the Gulpha Gorge Campground.

Great trail! Take your water!! You're going to need it once youve hit the dam. If you take a dog, take it for them also. No water source after you cross over and back across the creek. Its a quick 1.5 hour round trip hike with a couple of water break stops. You can take longer around the bluff for hammocking and climbing down to the lake and back up!! It's a free climb! Great trail, except going into summer, trail gets high with grass, ticks and lots of snakes too!

Beautiful!

Missy Tried to kill me on this trail today! lol the burn was good!
seen two beautiful bright Red Birds with Black underneath them.

My son and I hiked this trail this weekend after almost 2 inches of rain the night before. The fall creek was high and moving. There was a lot of water on the trail and a few places where we had to cross the creek. Our feet were soaked. It was worth it. Overall an easy hike with great views.

First 2/3 of the trail is great and well marked. It gets increasingly more confusing as you near the end. You will walk through downtown so be prepared for that... everyone looks at ya funny if ur sweaty, but it’s kinda a right of passage. Balanced rock (done on this recording) is easy to miss. The summit wasn’t that impressive, but worth the small additional hike. I didn’t do the goat overlook because

LOVED this trail. The terrain was varied and interesting, walking most of the trail by the creek was perfect, and the waterfall was gorgeous. You even get to hike back on a bluff next to the lake. Perfect distance for families and dogs too. Would do this hike again for sure!

beautiful day. relaxing hike. hike the loop in a clockwise direction for a steep climb and a gradual descent.

Absolutely beautiful scenery !!

Coming from West Monroe Louisiana, this is as good as it gets in my book. About 4 hours from home, solid climbs, rocky descents, and the perfect distance to refuel back at the car for another loop. Well marked in most places but has a few trails that come together close to the Gorge, just adds a little variety!!
My favorite training spot so far when I can make the trip!
