beautiful trail! I'm heavier set so it was a little hard for me.. don't let that differ you! so worth it in the end!! we went up the mountain and down it.. the water fall was amazing!

Trail itself was great. But i was really hoping for a full waterfall, maybe in the spring.

I give it a 4 star for the area. It lacks super scenic views, but is still a very pretty hike with a variety of landscapes to see. It does have some pretty good climbs and this can be a challenge for those not in hiking shape, both from the distance and a handful of the climbs.

Be careful of ticks, both my dog and I picked up quite a few, likely due to some of the grassy areas you walk through.

I stopped here passing through on my way back to Colorado and thoroughly enjoyed the hike overall!

It is mostly well-marked, but I used this AllTrails recording because there are a few spots where it isn't very clear where you are supposed to go without it, and it isn't all "technically" the Sunset Trail. That ends somewhere around West Mountain Drive and then you pick up other trails from there back to the Gulpha Gorge Campground.

Great trail! Take your water!! You're going to need it once youve hit the dam. If you take a dog, take it for them also. No water source after you cross over and back across the creek. Its a quick 1.5 hour round trip hike with a couple of water break stops. You can take longer around the bluff for hammocking and climbing down to the lake and back up!! It's a free climb! Great trail, except going into summer, trail gets high with grass, ticks and lots of snakes too!

Beautiful!

Fantastic hiking trail and easy for older dogs. Went early and had the trail to ourself.

My son and I hiked this trail this weekend after almost 2 inches of rain the night before. The fall creek was high and moving. There was a lot of water on the trail and a few places where we had to cross the creek. Our feet were soaked. It was worth it. Overall an easy hike with great views.

Well marked, pretty simple. There are absolutely no hot springs on this trail.

First 2/3 of the trail is great and well marked. It gets increasingly more confusing as you near the end. You will walk through downtown so be prepared for that... everyone looks at ya funny if ur sweaty, but it’s kinda a right of passage. Balanced rock (done on this recording) is easy to miss. The summit wasn’t that impressive, but worth the small additional hike. I didn’t do the goat overlook because

LOVED this trail. The terrain was varied and interesting, walking most of the trail by the creek was perfect, and the waterfall was gorgeous. You even get to hike back on a bluff next to the lake. Perfect distance for families and dogs too. Would do this hike again for sure!

Absolutely beautiful scenery !!

Coming from West Monroe Louisiana, this is as good as it gets in my book. About 4 hours from home, solid climbs, rocky descents, and the perfect distance to refuel back at the car for another loop. Well marked in most places but has a few trails that come together close to the Gorge, just adds a little variety!!
My favorite training spot so far when I can make the trip!

This is a really fun shorter trail! It is a loop trail and there are areas that are steep and can be slick during/after rain, but this is the best time to see a good flow on the waterfall.
However, you can do an in & out hike from the campground to the waterfall that is very easy and would be good for kids.. supension bridge included!

Easy trail and beautiful waterfall!

Great trail for a quick 45 minute hike with good views of the city. Easily accessible and worth your time. Some light elevation will get your heart rate up enough to consider it a good workout.

An excellent trail for beginners. We went when there was a freeze and got to enjoy some frozen waterfalls.

This is a lovely flat trail. It is next to Whittington Spring, where you can get cool, clear mountain water to drink free from the park service spigots. The trail is gravel and Hot Springs Creek runs through the middle of the park. The rockwork around the creek is very nice. People love to walk their dogs here and get water from Whittington Spring.

Good hike but a little hard to follow in some spots during the fall when the ground is covered in fallen leaves.

Beautiful!! Especially in the fall!

Good trail but there were no flowing water, would try in a different season.

I really enjoyed this trail. It’s short, but steep. From there I went to Goat Rock trail and enjoyed the view. I parked at the amphitheater at Gulpha Gorge campground. Will definitely come back to HotSprings when I have more time to do a longer loop. This was a stop off on my way back to Dallas. Definitely worth it

Great trail. Not what I’d classify as easy if you do the entire thing. Beautiful views and challenging enough to make it fun. Our dog loved it, too!
