This is a nice little trail, terrain-wise better than I expected. I would have given 3 or even 2 stars for the crowds and left-behind trash but am a sucker for a bubbling brook. In addition to the "big" waterfall, there were a lot of nice spots along the way.

Big disappointment. There was only one small and crowded water fall, other than that, there wasn’t much to see.

Did a total of @6 miles in a combination of trails. Excellent trail markings and well maintained paths. Saw numerous deer and a few large red headed woodpeckers. I would definitely recommend.

2 miles total. Great trail. Heavily trafficked. Get an early jump. The water is clear blue. The falls are a fun site.

Cute trail. We did it in our water shoes - wished we would have worn sneakers or boots. We got in the water at the waterfall (with all of the children) but this is 4th of July weekend. I’m sure it was busier because of that. After the waterfall, the terrain got quite a bit more steep and rocky but in a fun way! We witnessed a left behind baby stroller AND wheelchair. Honestly not sure how either of them got to their locations. Totally recommend. Very cute very fun, lots of pretty areas and romantic bridges along the creek.

I agree the view isn’t necessarily worth it. I expected a bit more from a national park. It has two look outs. One at the top on rocks and the other you so close to the top with the stairs. I would have probably chosen a different trail to do here had this one not had such good reviews.

Nice shady trail that follows the creek and lake shore. Couldn’t get within 50 yards of the actual falls because there were so many people.

Pretty average trail leading to a super over-populated waterfall with little regard for any social distancing.

Trail is ok. View is almost as good from the parking area. Easy climb both ways.

The Falls Branch Trail (red markings) was super popular. The waterfall was poppin, so we continued onto the Dam Mountain Trail (white markings) from there, which have very few people on it. A good mile and a half of it was overgrown, if you go clockwise at the waterfall onto the Dam Mountain Trail. If you don’t mind a little more distance, go counterclockwise, and once you reach the bench with the view of the Entergy Power Plant, turn back and go the way you came. At the trailhead, there was a family of bats up in trail info gazebo. They were chirpin away. Apparently AR is home to 16 species of bats, so I didn’t call anybody about them. No fee. Well shaded. Parking was fine.

Honestly confused at what we were looking for here. Maybe we just parked at the only overlook, but we also saw signs for Gulpha Gorge trail and they appeared to be the same trail. I’m not sure. Saw a couple of deer and a chipmunk, so that was cool. My sister found a tick on her afterward, and she had long pants, so beware. Then later one under her tank top, so check yourselves!

Did this trail, well a portion of it, back on 6/4/2020. Took this trail to the waterfall before switching over to the Dam Mountain Trail. All in all, nice trail. I can see where the terrain would create some issues for elderly or those with mobility issues. If I am ever back in the area, from Texas, I will hike this and the Dam Mountain Trail again.

We chose to start this trail in the parking lot at the scenic overlook. We took west mountain trail to the switchback end of sunset trail and then back to the parking lot via west mountain on the other side. For those who are not in great shape, this will be pretty challenging on all of the inclines. It was doable but not comfortable. The trail was nice with decent grading (some rocky areas in the dirt trail). It was shaded 90% of the time by trees. No stairs and a few benches along the way. Bring water because there are no fountains on the trail or at the top. We will come back once we are a little more accustomed to hiking - it shouldn’t take long to get there!

Trail was well maintained and easy, even for my 5 and 7 year olds. According to hot springs NP park maps you can connect to the Arlington trail and then get back onto the main roads but the Arlington trail has been closed or dead ends at the hotel... at their hot tub actually. According to signs you can only exit through the 7th floor of the Arlington hotel. We had a dog with us so we didn’t try that and just turned back to get out via the floral trail. So just FYI the Arlington trail DEAD ENDS.

Easy trail, and marked well. It would probably take less than an hour without stopping at the waterfall. I started around 0700, and had the waterfall to myself for probably 30 minutes. Definitely recommend.

Nice trail! Most of it was through the woods, and it was a but hard at times with the rocks to get up and down, you’d want to be careful if you’re a little older or have problems stepping down rocks. If you just want to go to the waterfall and not do the trail, head out towards the lake, and you’ll see the end of the trail. From there it’s less then half a mile to the waterfall.

Great trail for dogs! LOTS of places along the trail where they can get in the water to cool off - my dog loved it!

Great trail! We wanted to go on a long hike- preferably a big loop and not an out and back. There’s no way we could have found our way without this app! This loop was perfect. I would strongly recommend following the same start/ finish area. We parked about a block behind the US Forestry headquarters at the start. Then we did the loop counter clockwise. (We started on Grand Promenade and took the Dead Chief Trail at the beginning.) We had to follow the All Trails app closely at the beginning because there were often a few different route options and we wanted to complete this loop. We hiked almost non-stop averaging about 20 minutes per mile so it took us almost 4.5 hours. I would definitely recommend bringing plenty of water and some snacks. We carried a backpack with bottled water, Gatorade, trail mix, granola bars, etc. The trail itself is not very technical but just long. We had a great time and loved getting the full Hot Springs trail experience.

It was a nice and easy trail. We loved the swimming hole you get to. Definitely a popular spot, so go early for no crowd.
