Very wet and muddy after a heavy rain. The trail for the most part is pretty accurate. It is really between 7.5 to 8.0 miles all together. It has some very beautiful views, so it’s worth the hike.

The hike is quite nice, but the map is way off. I hiked about 5 miles total, and didn't even get to the end before I turned around. It was quite late, and on the way back, I could hear coyotes not far off.

really nice trail in good condition! I wish there had been more scenic areas, but other than that it was good.

This trail is one my local favorites! :)

This place is a great hike, I just wish that there were more scenic areas. but I've only been here like 3 times so I have lots to explore.

I love this trail. Met Mike about a year ago who was the caretaker of the lake. Much education by Mike and so appreciated. The cows have been approved by the City of Fayetteville to help with clearing. Yep u have to watch your step especially in the cow trails but worth it. I have seen Bald Eagles in the winter months. Dog friendly. Try to hike the PreCivil War Wall. It is so Interesting.

Beautiful hike...many trail options.

Great trail for hiking, dog friendly. Beautiful views, wooded, close to home. My pups loved it and so did we; I recommend this hike to anyone wanting to get out and enjoy a beautiful day.

If it’s been raining within a week of your hike it will be pretty muddy on the back end. All and all it’s a nice trail.

needs a little TLC. fun to do but nothing spectacular.

It's a nice enough trail, with plenty of great views of the lake, but it also basically runs through several backyards (or at least close enough to the houses that you feel like you're in their backyard) and a few of them make it apparent that your presence isn't necessarily appreciated. Though, that was just my takeaway, so your mileage may vary on how worthwhile the trail is.

The trail definitely has some great views of the lake. Unfortunately, it also runs through what appears to be someone's cow pasture. Which is something that very much detracts away from the overall experience. Especially when there happen to be a whole flock of cows right up on the trail.

Great trail. make sure you map your path, there are multiple trails that link to make a loop.

Good trail along the lake. I agree with others that it was kind of hard to follow at times, could have been because it was mostly covered with leaves. There were a few houses at different points and a nice little picnic area with a table. The first little bit of the trail is alongside the highway but in the woods. Others that we passed on the trail said they had seen eagles! As an avid hiker I would rate this as easy and not real strenuous. Nice walk through the woods though!

Well maintained and clearly marked trails. Plenty of parking st trail head beyond sports fields (my phone’s maps do not show the road continuing to the trail head, but it does).

Has a lot of potential. There's lots of views of the lake branches and creek crossing. Often the water level rises enough to make the area a tricky wetland to traverse. Sections have cow fields and I'm not 100% sure I got to the end of the trail or just lost it. It needs to be more defined on the second half, but otherwise good fun.

good easy trail. short and a little confusing at the turn around, I couldn't figure out a clear trail to follow but it was a beautiful day and I ran both trails on that side of the lake.

beautiful trail. good incline. a little hard to follow at times, especially with all the leaves and the turn around point was confusing but overall it was a good run for 3 mile trail.

I really like the flood plain portion of the trail. The forest and bamboo look spooky. However, I'm not keen on trails that run right next to roads, which is what half the trail does. Good shape though. Lake Sequoyah has come a long way.

Not a bad short trail that also connects to a trail that goes farther up the road, then the road to the top. One property has goats, so that's always a fun sight. After a good rain the trail follows a temporary larger stream, adding to a small sense of adventure. Too short of a trail, but at least it's woodsy and quiet and not a far drive.

We went in late October, and the leaves were amazing! Beautiful colors from inside & outside the forest! We did only about 4 miles of the trails, following the Last Call and Crazy Mary routes. Highly recommend!

I enjoyed the views on the back side of Mt Kessler.

Good incline and a good way to get your heart rate up while hiking. The overall trail was a bit overgrown and someone built a house at the end. I was hoping there was an overlook but the trees were to thick. Probably hiking in winter/late fall would be the prettiest. Pretty trail, though.

very nice, well maintained trail. trail set up for both mountain biking and hikers. although I was disappointed that there was no view point or anything special about the trail. you could stare at a picture of a wooded trail and walk 6 miles and it'd have the same effect as if you had walked the whole thing.

pretty sweet, cool mixture of scenery, definitely needs more blazing but its usually got it when you need it and doesn't have any when you don't.
recent rain has put lots of debris on the trail, cows have torn up a good bit of trail and made it stinky
my GPS came out at 4.1miles not 4.9

but overall ill probably be doing it again

The trails have been updated recently and are well maintained. My favorite trail to visit when there isn't time to drive out for a long outing.

Our hike was almost 6 miles on this trail. It was nice with lots of small trails connected. Saw some cool mushrooms, a box turtle, frog, salamander, and some other rock structures. Be sure to snap a pic of the map at the entry point before you go in so you know which way to go. There are other paths that will make the hike shorter if you like.
