Don't let the distance of this trail fool you. It is a constant incline hike all the way to the top to add more difficulty. Be careful going up and down. Make sure to use nearby trees and rocks for assistance to make sure you don't lose your footing.

This is a great Trail if you want to do some incline and some decline. A walking stick might be really helpful. I noticed that there are a lot of boulder fields around this trail.

My husband and I jumped in this trail right before Sunset point. To the right, there is an entrance. The initial downhill on bike was intimidating for me, but my husband loved it. He is an experienced biker. The trail is mostly dirt with some areas that are rocky. You can walk those with your bike, if intimidating. Whole trail is covered with trees.
The trail as a whole was excellent for mountain biking. The rating of easy to moderate is accurate. Enjoyed the history along the trail. Finished the loop on bike in approximately 45 min, in the rain.
Would definitely do again. Bringing our teenagers next time!

We hiked the Rim Trail with a detour along the Summit Trail. There was no interpretive guide at the ranger station, in fact the ranger knew nothing about one. The trail can be confusing as there are spurs to springs and to other trails, but all are marked with the same red blazes. Definitely has some challenging parts, but nothing dangerous.

I probably wouldn’t do the summit trail again, there is one section that has three different trails you can take, all marked red, but only one follows the map. Also, the bottom had a very snaky looking area with an algae pond and lots of vegetation on the trail. It was a good workout climbing back up...although I wish it was more maintained.

If not long, it is a challenge. Map can be confusing. Use care in deciphering the route. Toward the end, trail requires some challenging, hands-on climbing. Some trail markers not clear. But lots of variety. Glad we did it.

Unfortunately there is graffiti all over the rock on this steep climb. The graffiti extends to the rock/riverbank across the road as well does trash left behind from campfires, etc. Very much takes away from the beauty of the natural surroundings.

Easy hike under the tree canopy. Saw a deer on the trail as well as squirrels, plenty of birds, lizards, and only one snake (which was fine with me)

Have to say this trail was a bit of a disappointment after the amazing trip on the rim trail. To me it was too much like walking up my dirt road. Saying that it was wide and relatively easy and I wasn’t as worried about seeing a snake. There aren’t a lot of views on the trail but there is lots of history. Would love for the park to someday bring some of that history to life. I did find that part interesting. Was surprised to see Fern lake on the path but really wish they would consider cleaning it up a bit. All in all it is a good workout just not as exciting since their weren’t as many views. I did love getting a view of the rim trail to see how high I was the day before.

We hiked this trail last weekend. It is by far one of my favorites. So many beautiful views even in the middle of summer. There was just enough challenge without being too hard. I don’t recommend bringing pets or young children to this one but is absolutely AMAZING!

great for novice hikers. Great views along the entire rim of beautiful Mt Nebo.

Trail is well maintained and marked. Connects to multiple overlooks and bluffs with rest areas and trash disposal. Views are gorgeous. Well worth the hike.

Beautiful rocky trail with a few climbs and ledges. Passed some of the park cabins and residences. Mix of bluffs, forest and rocky areas. Definitely worth the hike at this beautiful state park.

I removed 1 star because of all the broken glass on trail. The park needs to prohibit glass containers - this is the worst litter that I’ve experienced and such a busy trail! Beautiful views!

Very steep but very short. Dardanelle Rock overlooks the Arkansas River and offers a view of Mt Nebo & Old Post Park from afar.

It is a very strenuous trail but there are amazing views! I think it is easier to go right in the beginning than to go left.

Great views!

Great views on all of the trail. Nice waterfall when flowing. Deer and other wildlife. Stop on sunset point to watch the sun drop behind the adjacent mountains. May even see a hang glider launch on a couple of places.

Great, easy trail! Mt.Nebo is our go to place to get away. We love the campsites, sunrise and sunset points, and this trail is a nice way to spend several hours at this park.

Nice hike to springs, but steep

Beautiful views, interesting rock faces and diverse terrain. A really great trail. I went in late December- 31 degrees- and saw some awesome icicle formations as well. Would definitely recommend.

This Trail was nice and easy with a wide road to walk on. in the winter time that we walked the leaves were gone and the views were still nice. if you were to walk it in the summer I don't think you would have of you of your surroundings and the valley.

Fairly easy trail mostly under the tree canopy. Lots of historical points including Fern Lake, CCC Campsites, and multiple springs. Follows the path of what used to be a road called Bench Boulevard. Nice way to spend an hour or two.

This trail is just easy enough it won't wipe you out for the day, and just challenging enough you'll feel like you've accomplished something. Beautiful vistas, boulders the size of Volkswagens, and shaded walks through the woods make it complete. Wouldn't recommend it for smaller kids, and although dogs are allowed there are areas I don't believe most could manage. Take plenty of water and be prepared to take pictures.

This particular trail was a bit off when it described how to get to the springs. We started behind the visitor center and had to go DOWN and to the left not UP. Ended up missing the spring the first time and ended up at the Branch Road Trailhead. All in all some great views at times but today wasn't a light traffic day as there was plenty of trail runners. Parts of the trail follow right behind cabins so it isn't that secluded if that's what you are looking for.

This was my first trail to ever hike. My daughter and I went and we loved it. Beautiful scenery and well marked. We did get a little confused finding the trail where it crossed the road but a nice camper helped us out. We did see a green snake but it didn't bother us lol. The ladies at the visitor center are so sweet and amazingly supportive. Loved Mount Nebo. Would go again for sure.
