Trail was in great shape. It’s marked very well. This is a 9.8 mile loop. This was my first backpacking trip and I planned for a day hike only. Pack weight was 8-10 pounds. I am an avid walker and hiker 3-4 miles, occasionally will hit 6 miles on a road. I walked this with my pack in 4.5 hours. I sat down twice to snack but some terrain was challenging enough to make me stop and catch my breath. No mountain views but the lake was lovely. It was a very quiet trail. You do have to register at the visitor center. This trail can also be used for dirt bikes. Only gave it 4 stars because the views weren’t super dynamic.

This was a nice and easy walk! My 12 week old husky LOVED it and it wasn’t to much for her. However... the pictures on here are not exactly what you’ll see on THIS trail and I was really upset about that. I guess I’ll have to go back and try the other two trails until I find this river!

This trail is 1.5 miles long and is a short hike through the woods. Very well marked and well maintained. wide in most spots. The pictures posted for this trail do not depict what you will see on THIS trail. I drove to this trail based on the pictures. At the start of the trail head there are 3 trails (see my profile for a photo of the 3 trail head signs), this trail, Beech Ridge, that is the red trail, the Coastal Plain Trail, 3 miles long, which is the blue trail and the Fern Hollow Trail, 10.6 miles long, which is the white trail. The Fern Hollow Trail has the rivers and bridges on it. But regardless, the Beech Ridge Trail was a short easy hike. If I had all day I would def have explored Fern Hollow more but hubby and I were driving back to Alabama.

I would NOT recommend this trail unless it’s the dead of winter. We drove down today from Louisiana to hike out halfway, spend the night, and hike the other half the next morning-BUT it’s infested with ticks! You cannot slowdown or you will get covered. We sprayed ourselves several times before and throughout the trail and it was simply not worth it. We decided to make the whole hike in one trip just to get OUT! The views shown in the pictures are simply not worth it, they were mainly taken two areas. We will drive an hour or two further to Little Missouri Trail!

Began trail at camp site 16. A nice easy short trail, very well marked. The park seems to take pride in their trails.

Easy 10 miler. Widely spaced trail throughout. Marked very well. Fun little hike!

Great short hike for me and my dog. Couple of slight uphill climbs to make it a little more physical.

Have nothing but good things to say about White Oak Lake State Park and their hiking trails, rarely see any trash and the trails are clear if any obstacles, very family friendly

Nice shade the entire trail. Clearly marked.

The full 9.8 mile loop is a moderate challenge, but the trail is kept up well with the occasional fallen branches that cross the trail. The trail is well marked with reflectors for each of the different trails that are available. White Oak State Park is nice and offers other activities and amenities which is great if you are with a family or have a day to spend there.

Short and easy walk through the woods. Not a whole lot to see aside from some trees, streams, & wildlife if you're lucky.

Good trail for new hikers and families with younger kids. I hiked with my 13 and 4 yr old. 4 yr old did great on this trail! There is a lot of wooded area then lake views on the back end of the hike. There is a picnic area about half way through provided a good break. We really enjoy White Oak Lake area!

This was the 2nd multi day hike of my new hobby. The trail was clear of fallen trees as previously stated. Thanks to the staff and volunteers for keeping the trail maintained. The camping area out on the trail was nice. You would have plenty of room for a large group. Looking forward to doing this one again.

The trail is very well marked. Currently there are several trees and large limbs down on the trail. Most likely due to the recent storms that past through. Watch out for cobwebs. They can be pain if you run into them. My GPS said it was 9.4 miles (Garmin fenix 5). Over all a very nice trail and will definitely run it again if I'm in the area.

Nice easy long trail. There's a few rolling hills but nothing to major to not complete.

Not difficult in the least...all but the most out of shape hikers should have no problems at all. The last mile or so is somewhat disappointing as it's basically a dirt road through the woods, but overall it's a fun hike through beautiful woods.

Really enjoyed this trail and this state park is small but beautiful. Definitely worth the drive. Can't wait to go back. It's really more like 3 miles and it's not too hard, not too easy. Very well marked...you can't get lost.

This is another well marked, well maintained and easy little trail at White Oak Lake. There are three great trails here all starting from the same trail head, each just a bit longer than the other! This is a short easy walk!

Awesome! This is part of a series of trails at White Oak Lake State Park, this is a very well maintained park with a terrific staff! The trails are heavily wooded and clearly marked, nothing too hard but very peaceful and amazingly secluded for being in the middle of a popular lake! Most people just fish, not many hike these awesome trails!
