Awesome hike from the North Rim to South Rim. Took about 12 hours with lots of stops along the route to take in the journey and amazing views! Started at 4:30am at the North Rim. Very dusty and sandy trail which wasn’t expecting but it was fine. Such an incredible hike with many challenges as the last few miles is straight up and seemingly endless. But at 62 years old, it’s a must do hike for everyone. And the North Rim is a special place too.

The trailhead shows that this is a 5 mile round trip hike. I did it in less than 2 hours with lots of time for pictures and relaxing at the top.

Great view of the surrounding mountains. Completely in the sun though so come very prepared. Wasn’t difficult and a good distance if you have enough water

Loved this trail especially for this time of year! The temperature is perfect right now and it’s basically all shaded in forest. So many lady bugs at the rope so be on the lookout for that

Pretty steep but very short. A nice vein of the mountains but if you’re looking for something more submerged in nature this is not the trail you’re looking for!

Just moved to the desert and this was an amazing hike to right out the gate. Not very difficult and perfect for seeing what the desert has to offer. Lots of shade in the morning too so it’s not too hot. Still bring lots of water though.

Beautiful trail. Mostly in the sun and pretty steep. The peak is so beautiful and is such a great way to relax after a difficult hike.

This was such a fun trail! I did it with 4 friends and most of us are pretty out of shape. Myself and the other more in-shape of the 5 went all the way while the others sunbathed like lizards on a rock. There are certain points where you're pretty much climbing up a rock face, so you definitely need good traction shoes. Though it's mid-October it was still a bit warm for my taste around 11am, so I'd suggest going early.

I did not personally see any Apache Tears (maybe I didn’t look hard enough??) but it was pretty obvious in certain parts of the hike that they were mined out of the hike itself. It was an easy trail but don’t plan on being amazed. Once you get to the open/clearing if you go left you’ll see the gate that you’re not allowed to pass. If you go straight and up towards the boulders you’ll find the caves. One website mentioned being able to walk right up to the mine (because the gate is right at the mine) I did not find this true, unless I went the wrong way. There are a few bee hives!! Although, the trail wasn’t covered in bees at all. We also went off trail to get to the spring.

Did this trail right before sunset. Took my friend and I (in moderate shape) about 30 minutes to get to the top. There was more scrambling than I was expecting but nothing too challenging. Made for a great first hike in Sedona. Hiking shoes would be a major plus for this trail. Small children without hiking experience I would not suggest. Great views along the way to the top as well!

very pretty trail, I'm not experienced, thought it was easy but super crowded

Slide rock heading down from the ‘Cave’, very sketchy and hard to find. Careful to choose a route that doesn’t have a large drop off... definitely not dog friendly. Came over from Lone Pine, was fine, would go back the same way

Was a really great hike. Parking is down the street. The sign for this trail was down the trail a little bit.

Nice evening hike after work.

Fun trail, have to scramble in places. Steep but short. Well worth the hike. We started about 4:45 to give us time to reach the top for sunset. Plenty of time at the top, did have to come down quickly as light faded quickly.

We hiked Tom's Creek Rd, no way our SUV was making it down that road. Didn't make it all the way to the water, wasn't sure how bad the road would be, but it is absolutely terrible so we didn't wanna even risk it and just decided to hike what we could. We did run into two black bears while hiking back out.

Beautiful trail, thoroughly enjoyed it! Beware the bees in the cave though!

Just wow! Easy to do it is just the elevation that gets you if you are not used to that!

Very pretty and scenic. Trail essentially ends near a small river. On the map you should be able to continue a bit, but it’s overgrown and not very passable. Still we were able to hike the majority of it and enjoyed it a lot. The last 1/3 of the trail descends down and is quite shaded, cool, and you can enjoy the sound of running water.

Great trail. Wonderful views; our 6- and 10-year-old loved climbing up Chicken Point.

Tillys first hike

Highly recommend. Completed with dog and in-laws, took many breaks for photos and quick rests on the way up. Weather is beautiful in October and the aspens are gorgeous. Midday you’ll receive quite a bit of traffic driving down the mountain so drive safely and be prepared to pull off.

Did it 10/12 under the full moon and it was spectacular. Very well maintained trail - couple of steep slopes but doable for just about anyone. Saw no wildlife except for a couple of tarantulas
