Sophie's Flat Trail (A-C Loop) Make sure to look at the trail map as there are several options you can choose. The A-C Loop takes approximately 2.5 hours. The trail meanders through a couple dry washes and jeep trails and features beautiful views of the Wickenburg area (all the way to Vulture Peak), red peaks, canyons and interesting rock formations. The trail is surrounded by spectacular desert vegetation, including saguaro cactus, ocotillo cactus, palos verdes trees, palos chirsti, prickly pear cactus and jojoba just to mention a few. Also, there is an abundance of wildlife to see, including many bird species, lizards, snakes, rabbits and occasionally wild javelina. Show more

Walk along Vulture Mine Road until the trailhead, which is also a dirt road. At the end up against Belmont Mountain is a mine shaft with bars over the entrance.Show more
