Mammoth kill site, interpretive hike, lots of history This is a short interpretive hike that makes a loop. Although a very short hike, the information you'll learn about the Clovis man and the Mammoth kill site make it worth while. A great educational hike for children and just the right distance for them too. Bones of several extinct animals were found at this site including Mammoth, North American horse, Camels, Bison, Lion, and Dire wolf. There were several Clovis points found as well. The age of the site is roughly 11,000 years old. There is one section where you'll cross a wash that can be a bit steep and slippery so watch out.Show more
