Took me 2 hr and 15 minutes in total to finish the loop.

Love it! Will come back and climb the rock!

it's a great trail and isn't hard but a lot of lose gravel on the trail so lots of spots one can slip if your not paying attention.

Overall really fun hike. Not too hard. There’s a lot of sun exposure for the first couple of miles so make sure to bring lots of water! The water features are worth the hike!

Exposed with little shade. Swimming in creek was the best part!

Beautiful scenery but disappointed by the end of the trail. It doesn't really go anywhere and just peters out to nothing. Well worth doing though. Also very few other people out on this trail which is a definite bonus!

Easy trail that would be fun for a family with younger kids. The end of the trail is a road, which is kind of disappointing if your used to hiking to a summit. Either way it has beautiful views and you get pretty close to snoopy rock!

Nice easy hike with options to connect to trails leading to Bell Rock or Chapel of the Holy Cross. Perfect distance. Partially shaded, but be sure to bring plenty of water.Great views!

Great scenery! Enjoyed the trail around Bell Rock and walking through trees, up pathways and seeing all sides of the rock formation. Highly recommend paying attention to the trail markers to ensure you follow the loop and don’t end up on the wrong side of the fence. Definitely worth the stroll!

Very nice trail and pretty easy. A bit hot at the start so take plenty of water. The cool stream at the end is well worth the journey. It was very quiet too - I only came across three people on the entire hike.

Beautiful views, although not as much water and creek as we had hoped. There is not much cover so definitely prepare for the sun and heat. We went on a Sunday around noon and didn’t see many people. Bring lots of water.

Great trail! You can get off the trail about half way and go and check out the birthing cave. Follow the river back if you can’t find the trail.

Amazing early morning hike. Quiet and cool. The colors as the sun was rising against the hills was stunning.

Mescal Mountain is awesome.. Long Canyon was not as fun. It is similar to Secret Canyon where you are getting back into dense/thick forest. The AllTrails app doesn’t work as well back there. I would hike 1/2 mi or so and the app didn’t record me moving hardly at all. So, it was hard to tell when the trail was going to end (same experience in Secret Canyon). I also had a steady stream of bugs zooming in circles around my head on almost the entire time on Long Canyon trail .. kind of takes away from the fun. Mescal Mountain is something you don’t want to miss tho.

Good trail for light hiking jogging. Some views, 2 really nice stream crossovers.

Tough in 100 degrees but as long as your prepared it’s a great hike. Tougher than it seems but fun.

Nice hike. Linked up with Bell Rock, Bail and Llama trails to extend this a little bit. Great views!

Loved this trail. Took us about 2.5 hours. Quiet, serene, and relatively flat. Highly recommend for all ages!

The trail is well-marked and gorgeous, but do NOT try to scale and summit Bell Rock. The trail leading to the south side is washed out, and leaves maybe 1-2 ft from the edge of the cliff circling back around to the north on the right side of the rock. Stay on the north side.

This was a nice, definitely moderate trail. If you're in great shape, hike often, are well-equipped to handle the heat during the summer months, and have no little ones, then yes, I suppose it can be described as an easy trail. West Fork is easy as is Slide Rock or Parsons. I say this to offer a warning to those that read other reviews describing this trail as easy. It gets hot and there are some decent ascents that will challenge you, if at the very least, give you a decent workout. If you have young children be prepared to stop often for water breaks. If you are backpacking or carrying toddlers, you'll feel it. But, the water is so nice once you get to it. There are even some nice rocks to sun bathe on. We cooled off, ate some lunch, and hiked back to the trailhead (kiddos and all) as temps were hovering around 100°. They handled it like little troopers but still stopped several times for water. So, having said all that, my family and I will definitely do this again but will most assuredly start earlier in the day to beat the heat.

Amazing views, rated 4/5 Sour Patch Kids. Chicken Point was great until two Pink Jeeps arrived and unlade their horde of loud tourists.

Trail is actually closer to 4.25m, great hike though, some uphill climbing but not too difficult. I wouldn’t necessarily take kids though, pre-teen and above...

My first long hike in Arizona. Challenging, but not overwhelming for this 65 year old outdoor lover. Got very close to some deer and a large Bull snake. Great views!

Great, easy hike in Sedona. Links up with several other trails allowing hikers to return via a different route from whence they came.

Overall this was a nice hike. Our only frustration was that Google maps took us to a private driveway, which was about 1.5 miles further north on 89N than where we were supposed to start. The owner of the property said it happens a lot. He directed us north on 89 to the Midgley Bridge, and we accessed the trail from there (and hiked back toward Sedona). So... if you want to start on the southern end (near town) take Schnebly Hill Road to the trailhead. Regarding the hike itself, It offered beautiful views of Sedona on one end, a couple creek crossings and nice views at the other end near Midgley Bridge. The middle section was nothing special but provided good shade - Average work out, on the easier to moderate side.

A great hike with kids. Parking lot was easy to find, we were able to use National Parks pass for parking (otherwise you may need to pay for parking on honor system). The trail markers were very clear and each major turn in the trail had a map so we can see about how far to the next "check-in". I recommend this one for sure!

Very picturesque! Multiple water crossings and opportunities to swim.

Nice trail when you need something simple.

Amazing views at the end! This is one of my favorite hikes. The long sweeping views are gorgeous. It’s such an easy hike for a great payoff! We hiked it easily with 5 kids ages 13-5.

Mountain bikes it from the top down. Fun trail but I would rate it as expert.
