Park at Cave Creek Ranch, as shown on map. You can talk to the friendly staff at Cave Creek ranch to get a better idea of where to walk to find the true start of the trail. They also don't charge anything for parking (the $5 fee is for birders). The trail is quite narrow and with some low hanging overgrowth, but otherwise in good condition. You can take the spur trail to the S-SW after 0.4 miles, which gives a different view and apparently some petroglyphs under the huge rock. The trail ends at the saddle and appears to be very overgrown after this and according to the Cave Creek Ranch staff as well. Show more
