There’s two different trails one is on gravel road phx side and one is on Quartzite side

Awesome trail and very scenic. Trail was a little brushy when I did it but easy to follow. Didn't see another soul except for a Black Tail Rattlesnake eating breakfast.

This hike was a great hike! Getting to the trailhead you have to find the palm tree on the opposite side of the road. There will be a gate that you will have to open. You don't need 4X4.

Awesome trail, views towards the end of the trail were fantastic, i didn't run into even one other person through out the entire 4.5 hour hike.

Awesome scenery and trails. pretty steep spots. But not hard. Done on a 2 wheel drive blaster. I wouldn't take my f350 though. Would be kind of harry.

Beautiful drive, and spectacular views from the summit

The trip up is amazing. Road is decently maintained with a few medium sized rocks to avoid. Scenery is beautiful and worth the trip up. It is about an hour to go up. Longer if you take pics like we did. The trip down is fun and it's best in 1st gear. You're gonna keep the brakes warm if you don't. Overall, an absolute blast

Very challenging but worth it. If you drive into the trailhead the round trip hike is 10.8 miles. We drove to the trailhead in a Honda CRV and had no trouble.

Very tough, very worth it. Trail head is 2 miles inland off highway 60, on a dirt road. You'll see a gate at mile marker 71 (there's also a palm tree on the opposite side of the highway). The road is easy to follow but I would highly suggest a high-clearance vehicle (I wouldn't have been comfortable in anything less than my 4WD truck). Once you pass the horse trailer parking, the trail head and registry are 0.4 miles further up the road. You'll know when you can't drive any further. Bring lots of water, and rain gear during the wet season!

A beautiful and challenging trail up the mountains from 2,000 feet to 5,600. The trail was well kept and easy to follow. Make a turn of hwy 60 between mile marker 70 and 71. A palm tree on the other side of the highway marks the entrance. The dirt road to the trailhead was rocky, my little volvo good, but I will bring a pick up next time. Fairly secluded, only about one hiker a day according to the registar. Being December it was cold and wind on the top.

This just became my favorite hike around Phoenix, make sure you add this one to your to-do list.
