This trail is in my back yard. I have guided many up and back. It is available year around. Very easy to hike or quad ride. Popular point is a foot print in stone near the base of the hill with the communication towers, to the North by Copper Bottom Mine. I have not seen Long Horn Sheep, but I did see seven Mule deer in a herd.

Hiked in after 3pm so much of the trail was shaded. After the "Palms" sign the trail becomes more sketchy but still can be followed. At the end there is some rock scrambling. About 3/4 of the way up and off the trail to the left side you can get up close and personal with a palm that is growing by the trail.

Great trail for a family outing. We took our 3 kids age 3, 9 and 11 and all managed this with ease. The flowers are spectacular.

Nice hike! Wasn't impressed with the palm trees. hard to see if you don't continue to the steeper area.

The road going in is an easy, well marked gravel road. Very beautiful area. You can only see the oasis from the distance and after a half mile the trail becomes hard to follow but very worth the visit!

The Wash can be narrow in places as well as some larger rocks that have to be navigated through

Nice views and a pleasant short hike. Note: this trail is not up by Parker. It is SOUTH of Quartzite. The road in was in good shape.

As another review mentioned, better to drive to the base of the canyon and then hike using the wash as your route. Kofa Canyon Road is best driven with high clearance AWD. Once you arrive at the canyon entrance you're best off with an ATV or on foot. However, you can fit a truck through much of this route with patience. The rock walls are amazing. And there a few scattered fire pits if you want to camp.

Is the review above fake?? I ask because I can’t imagine a review that doesn’t mention that one needs a 4WD, high clearance vehicle to get to/from. Definitely take hike sticks because the downhill is non stop down at very sharp angles. Also, while the views are nice, there’s really no need to go all the way to the top as all views from the top are pretty well blocked by the myriad of cell towers and electric buildings, etc. Also no signs of any sheep. No scat and really not much for them to eat so I doubt that was a real sighting.

An all uphill trail with minimal shade. Views at the top are worth the struggle of getting there! Even got to see a bighorn sheep close up on the way to the top.

Easy walk through the canyons. Super cool rock formations. Driving through looked less fun. It's a beautiful day, get out and walk.

Beautiful views...easy hike. The road in is a bit rough...you need 4WD.

One of my favorites. Although the trail is VERY easy and short, the inner canyon is absolutely beautiful. Four wheel drive needed to get in. Great for a quick hike - you can bring your truck right to the entrance of the canyon so if you don’t want to do any hiking and just look at the Palms, then this is a great option . Off of 95.

Google maps originally suggested parking on hwy 95 and walking 7 miles to the trail head, don't do that. Drive on the dirt road till the very end. The trail itself is mostly loose rocks and not entirely clearly marked. It was fun to climb and explore a bit. The views are beautiful. A good easy hike if you need to get out of the car for a little.

From the official trail brochure, available at the trailhead: "The narrow canyon ahead of the parking lot is Palm Canyon. A half-mile foot trail starts at the upper end of the parking area. The trail is easy to follow, but is rough most of the way due to large rocks and has some steep sections. Allow an hour to make the round trip." We found all this to be accurate. Although AllTrails has the length at 1.6 miles, it's actually just 1 mile round trip to the slightly elevated area near the middle of the canyon from where you can see the native palm trees growing in a side canyon on the north side. We didn't continue up the canyon (another .3 miles of steep climbing) from there. Note that there is no water or restrooms at the trailhead.

More like a strenuous walk than a hike, but great destination. The palm trees are pretty outrageous, and you can nearly climb up to them (off-trail) to increase the difficulty. Dog-friendly. Nice way to spend an afternoon.

Nice trail to hike. At the end of the trail look up in the ridge of the mountain side and you will see the last of the palm trees native to Arizona. Dog friendly. Trail is usually empty. Bring water.
